Hey, Scott! First time seeing the pull cord pulled out a little while using an impact to tighten the clutch. If I can ever afford an impact I’ll have to remember that! 😉🔧👍

Hey Scott. What part number it’s the plastic/rubber tool you’re using to undo the spark plug, I think that’s very handy to have. Thanks

My S145 dies when I throttle up. The fuel line in the tank is black soft rubber, and is collapsed. I searched for a video, and can't find one that replaces fuel lines on the S145/S165 42CC. I tore into it, and discovered there is an in-line connector inside the tank on the outgoing line. I've never seen a mention of this on any video or written procedure. There's a plate below the carb and above the fuel line entry into the tank, and I don't know if I can or how to remove it. I managed to disconnect the line from the carb and pull it back into the tank enough to replace the collapsed section of fuel line, but it would be nice if there was a video that actually replaced these fuel lines in their entirety.

Learning methods of installing impeller. Normally use 1/4 impact. Don’t have a strap wrench. How do you hold to torque to 25 lb ft. Thanks.

Rope in the cylinder as a piston stop should work.

Okay asking about the same chainsaw I have one it's my favorite, it stopped oiling. I'm not too bad at repairing things, but I'm not sure I want to replace the oil pump on this chainsaw, single mom full-time job but we do burn wood in the winter and I cut it myself I'm a little intimidated about the clutch thing
@TheGreasyShopRag Жыл бұрын
The clutch removal is the hardest part of the job. The threads are reversed so remember that. When it comes off there's a fair chance it will come apart and that spring can be a pain in the butt. You could buy a new assembled clutch for about $14. The oil pump and worm gear are about $16. Good luck.

@@TheGreasyShopRag I noticed the reverse direction when it was being removed, and had to back up the video to confirm. That's a good thing to always emphasize when working on that. I found a written procedure that mentioned clockwise when loosening, but they did not particularly emphasize that point. Of course it makes perfect sense when observing the clockwise rotation of the chain.

Please dbl check my value of 25 lb ft. Used a plastic stop and tried 15 lbs. never got that high, released pressure and the stop flew out. Tried rope too. Would hate to damage someone’s saw. Thanks.

@@TheGreasyShopRag I'm working on a MTD chainsaw right now. I noticed fines inside the air filter, and carb throat. I cut the mesh screen sections out. Trimmed a foam lawnmower filter element, and metal screen for over the carb throat to fit inside the plastic filter body.

Those nylon mesh filters are pretty much useless unless you’re cutting ice or in wet conditions. Even when sealing properly the dirt gets right through that filter. I’m not saying to buy a $1500 chain saw but don’t buy these cheap Chinesium box store saws unless you’re going to use it once.
@TheGreasyShopRag11 ай бұрын
I agree. Good filter er no, the typical homeowner that never had a saw will use it, store it and come back to it months later with fuel problems.
