One of my subscribers asked me to post a close up look at the sleeve hitch I have on my Husqvarna tractor, with the Johnny products electric upgrade and my added brackets. Well, here it is!

Thank you for this video. I am about to install mine, and it didn't make a lot of sense, but now I see why.

Hey buddy thank you! I really appreciate your time and help. I need to just get some metal and get to welding now! I definitely think I can make me one. Ill have to make some videos

hi, did you manage to make one - I'm thinking about making one myself, what gauge steel are you using?
@LanceSheppard3 жыл бұрын
@@cristomario9118 hey there! No I actually got a deal on a craftsman sleeve hitch. I dont recommend the craftsman. It has bent. I would recommend using like 3/8 to maybe 1/2 . I think your soil type has alot to do with it. Check out some of my videos on my channel got some on there

I have a craftsman GT6000 Garden Tractor and youre part of the reason I got it haha, I was wondering if you knew of any way to add a linear actuator to the stock sleeve hitch so I can make it electronic because as you've said in one of your other videos it allows you to put the full weight of the tractor on the implement such as a plow. Keep up your great content I really enjoy it and would love to see more videos on the craftsman GT!

Erick..i really love your videos especially the GT ones. i also farm with my GT. im looking into adding a power lift to my sleeve hitch as whell.

I'll be making a few more as the temps turn cooler! For the last 2 months, its been all I can do to even find the time to make any videos. Farms do tend to be a busy place in late summer/early fall don't they? I've just finished a light upgrade for the GT52xlsi that should make night time winter plowing a bunch, so stay tuned!

yes they do! mid summer is nothing next to lat summer early fall. im getting my garden bed ready for winter right now and its taken up all my free time. im gonna be starting my own small farm/tractor channel here soon would love if you would watch!

Is that retracting shaft steel of aluminum? How well does is work with a plow pulling down on it. Worried the bottom pin may pull out of that actuator tube

How do you tie it in to the electrical? Is there an electrical switch for up and down?
@Starkster504 жыл бұрын
Is the top actuator mount plate from Sear's ? That looks identical to one sold by Sear's for $33 from their part list for electric assist kit for their sleeve hitch. I was going to go with 4" stroke but you said yours was 5" and I'm sure the extra stroke comes in handy.

My finished electrical linear actuator. I learned much from your videos. "C:\Users\JohnHead\Pictures\Husqvarna garden tractor\005.JPG"

Here is a link to a KZbin video I just uploaded . I hope you can see how I made this quick and simple update. I used a piece of C-channel to support the inside of the Craftsman sleeve hitch frame to make it more rigid. I then added a square stock vertical piece that was spaced away from the frame to clear the gas tank and upper body. I purchased a clevis piece from e-bay and attached it to the top of the square stock. The linear actuator cost $65 new on e-bay. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJ-kpnxogbJ2rMU

How long is the swing arm?

They have a 4” stroke 600lb and a 1200lb. Do you remember which one you ordered?
@FarpointFarms6 жыл бұрын
I got the 600lb unit. I'm pretty sure the 1200 would be overkill, but by all means go for it!

Farpoint Farms is the shaft that extends out made of aluminum or steel? I’ve messaged them but haven’t got a response. The aluminum one I ordered is garbage lol

Hey Erick, Is there a brand name on the linear actuator?
@FarpointFarms Жыл бұрын
If there was, it has since come off.
@DMFWallace Жыл бұрын
How’s the actuator been holding up over the years? Any issues so far? Getting ready to pull the trigger on one but they’re quite a bit more expensive these days..
@FarpointFarms Жыл бұрын
It has not had any issues since we bought it. It was expensive when we first got it, I can only imagine how much they are now
