Really interesting how they made those back then. Now you have the Milwaukee sockets that are square on one end. Thanks Catus

Did anybody else just get the idea to put a zip-tie onto their sockets to keep them from rolling away ? MI never knew these existed, and came with those rare SS ratchets.

Been doing that since the 80's.

As I opened this video. Not sure why I didn’t think of it sooner. And now I have zero reason to have Milwaukee sockets 😂

@@gtcam723 I already had zero reason since I only buy American made sockets and wouldn't buy an imported socket set from a power tool company if I was going to.

Hello again, Catus Maximus and Tiny Thank you for another Great Video 👍 I enjoyed watching today's video. I know you said these were at Sears in the 1980's. But I don't remember seeing them at the Sears I shop at? I wonder if it was a short term sale? Again thank you 👌

i have a short 13mm socket that made its way into my toolbox. no idea where it came from. Likely after one of the many late night helping out with friends on their cars with tools strewn around and it got mixed in. I thought they were gimmicky in the 80s but I did admire the packaging and finish on the stainless steel ratchets they paired with.

Still have my set of metric sockets i got in 1988. only problem is most of the collars came off over the years. mine are marked with the socket size under the collar. my set is metric deep 3/8 drive 6 point.

The stainless ratchets are gold and rare.

I have 50+ of these sockets, some 6 point some 12 point. 1/4" , 3/8" and 1/2" drive. Some deep some shallow. All of mine still have the collars, the problem seems to be the markings/ stickers coming off. Making it hard to identify the socket obviously. Can never find info on them or them posted on ebay. I didn't realize the stamping was underneath the collars because all of mine are still on.

I use zip-ties to do the same thing.
