What I like in Japanese artist is meaning behind work. Art in process create artist, his patience, control, concentration, fragility...is only tools to build special human. IOnly documentation of process. Works build human. Real art minnings. West are less introvert and forget the creation is just the tool. West are more focused for impressing and build vanity and extravagance as something worths efforts.

In turkey, during the ottoman period we have lots of art styles and pieces made from mother-pearls and turtle shells. One of these styles is called “Sedef Art”. Does this kind of making jewelry from mother-pearls have any name in other countries/cultures? Just wondering
