I love to cross stitch but I am completely obsessed with knitting socks! I have at least 5 counted cross stitch projects that I want to start, but I pick them up and then I knit another pair of socks. For anyone who wants to knit socks and is living in a state of fear, my advice is - buy a good, illustrated how-to book and dive in. That's what I did - 9 years ago when I retired. I still have my first pair. There's a hole in the toe because I didn't exactly understand the kitchener stitch, but they fit ok - well, they're a little loose - but I will never forget how excited I was when I saw it starting to actually resemble a sock. I use dpn's and top down. I want to learn toe up and circular needles, but I can't stop my top down habit. My latest skill is knitting flip flop socks for my sister. She loves them. I love knitting socks. Thank you ladies - I love your humor and your instructions.

I'm a lifetime member of the "Squirrel Club". It's so hard to see all the great knitty & non-knitty items you guys share. I'm watching you two and then you show something new and I'm stopping the tape, opening another window and looking for the item you just showed. Oh boy am I a "Squirrel Girl" LOL

Always a joy ladies! I Just started rewatching your podcast series from the beginning so I could take notes this time on all the awesome indie dyers and etsy shops you feature, and I happened to watch your episode where Traci bought the $18.00 fabric for her cross stitch adventure! Jodi your reaction was PRICELESS!!! Love, love, love!!! I'm so excited to watch every new GG and OON episode! y'all are such a treat xoxoxo

Of all the times to not get closed captioning! I hope it was just this one video, because if KZbin or Craftsy have removed it, I'm going to be up the creek w/o a paddle. LOVE the sock, and can't wait to find the pattern and get started. Thanks, again for a neat video.

I loved this episode! What a treat it was to watch your interview with Ann Budd! Tracie, Clover makes an embroidery needle threader that works great. It will make threading needles so much easier. When I did counted cross stitch I threaded 3 or 4 needles with the same color of floss so I wouldn't have to stop and thread a needle so often. Also, the Aida cloth really softens up as you work with it and it feels like a nice fabric. I'd still be cross stitching if I still had my younger eyes! It's so enjoyable and not like sewing really.

Watching your video is one of the highlights of my week. Thank you so much for your hard work. Regarding the knitting tattoos I got my one snd only tattoo about five years ago at the age of 60ish lol. I knew it had to be knitting related. It's on my ankle so it shouldn't stretch out! My dream trip would be to attend the fun knitting retreat in November in Edmonton with you all, but Amarillo, Texas is too far away. 😩

Love this episode! I'm knitting my first pair of socks, and I just got my sock ruler! I love those socks, and even though I'm not a pink girl unless it's hot pink, I love the color of those socks. Tracie, I have to know what your nail polish is - I love that pink! I'm definitely going to order the pattern and yarn for those socks. I'm going to finish my vanilla socks and then make Hermione's, but these will be my third pair for sure! Thank you so much for this interview, it's really great!

Socks! I've only made one pair and they didn't fit anyone. I knit them so tight they are waterproof for sure lol. I actually ran out of yarn right before the second toe and I had used 100g to make them. I knew they were going to be too tight for anyone but still wanted to finish them. I now want to hang them on my wall as decoration. haha I want to get good at sock knitting but still intimated to keep going. Maybe a Craftsy class is what I need to learn more and feel like trying again. :)

I love the content of all the Off Our Needles podcasts. However, I have one criticism. The photographer needs to be more aware of what he's shooting. In an attempt to get close-ups sometimes Jodi or Tracie's demonstration will be someone cut off.
