Just finished making half a recipe, have some books that I have been working on creating for my son, and was looking for a strong glue to make it so it would be a complete process of homemade collection for him to have for a while and hope he is going to be enjoying too. Thank you for pinning it, wasn’t expecting that but glad you liked the comment. Now have to make the covers to glue as well since it is going to be a fast moving process. Wishing you the best!

In my experiences, this works just like elmers glue but not so watered down. I've done paper maché majority of my life and I'm 53. Everything from floats in a parade (that's huge projects), clothing for small figures and the figure itself to furniture w cardboard and this recipe is what my gma taught me as a child. If it's done just like this video, and never walk away in the cooking process, presto, you have a paste that's easier to use then elmers. Thanks for this video, perfectly well done. Keep these recipes coming. Nice to see em still being used

I am 67 years old and when I was a kid this is how my Mom made wall paper paste. It works for that too, so yes it should work in place of Mod Podge. I just made some and it even smells the way I remember my Mom's wall paper paste. :) For extra stick you might add some plain old white glue to it, but depending on what you're doing you may not need that. This is the recipe for glue (minus the LIsterine) that my mum taught me. She was taught by her mum who learned it from hers. I'm sure it goes back even further than that and there's a reason it's been around so long - it really does work well! It's also great if you have crafty kids or do family crafts as it's non toxic with no chemicals that you don't know what exposure to may do years later (an important consideration for kids especially). Thanks for such a clear tutorial and for keeping this great old, safe and strong glue recipe alive!

@@shrisharuthi1483 "How to make glue for wood,fabric, papers,cardboard etc..." but I try it out and let you know it in 2 or 3 days. 2 weeks ago I made a mistake as I was tired , but by the way made the glue another way. If you boil water and then give the ingredients in it, reaction as white foam comes early and continues throughout the process. You have to do it like Craft w Cr. mentioned it, but boil it before putting flour, sugar e.t.c. togehther. In the end there is some jelly-like substance and if you mix it with lots of water you have your glue. But much more then before.

I made the stuff, with 500 ml Water, 95 gr. Flour, 24 ml Vinegar, 16 gr. Baking powder and 16 ml. cheap Mouthwash. The mouthwash added after removing the pan from the heat to avoid a possible poison cloud. I used an electric whisk to stir the stuff. This yielded 450 ml of glue, the rest was a brown-black layer in the pan. Test 1 - straight from the jar: In terms of application, the glue resembles a well-known brand name glue stick more than a brand name PVA glue. Applied on rough cardboard, it has the properties of the well-known brand name glue stick. Advice: if possible, use a spatula to apply the glue, it will shorten the drying time considerably. Test 2 - Diluted 1: 1: Can We Spray It? Yes, we can! I put 250 ml of glue in a blender, added 250 ml of water and mixed it. Vaporizer bottle filled, surface sprayed, material applied and sprayed with a covering adhesive layer, which then dries clear. Conclusion: Works great. Downside: drying time is a bit long, probably, because of all that water, instead of another faster evaporating liquid. Thank you for the recipe.

Acrylic and Acetone collect clear acrylic (sheets, containers like the boxes that hold silicone earplugs) wear protective eyewear and gloves. use heavy duty pliers to break it all up into small pieces (the size of a postage stamp) Be careful! Acrylic shatters when snapped and little bits can fly with velocity. Wear respiratory mask when handling chemicals with strong fumes - Acetone. In wide-mouthed glass jar with lid (Mason jar,) put in the acrylic bits and pieces. Pour in the acetone.. making sure the pieces are fully immersed. Put the lid on.. not supertight but enough to stop leaking when shaking the jar. Leave overnight. stir the mix well. Sim Sala Bim.. Waterproof glue! Note: More Acetone = runny, weaker bond. Caution: This is not for the faint of heart. It is difficult to extract the right amount needed and more difficult to apply. As the acetone evaporates, the bond dries faster than a lunatic cat dashing across the room and behind the couch (about that fast) Whatever tool or brush one uses, quickly gums up so keep another jar with a little clean acetone to rinse the tool off (as best one can.) With some experimenting with viscosity one has a long lasting adhesive that is pretty strong (it's not JB Weld) and waterproof. I don't know if it can be used on an object in constant contact with water.. possibly for a while but eventually I doubt the bond will hold. This is NOT to be handled by children. Keep children and pets far removed from the work area. If glue drips or sticks to one's fingers, massage coconut oil/butter liberally.. glue will pop right off.

I made this last night and it did not come out right at all. I had to figure out the conversion to cups from grams and messed that part up. When I cooked it I must not have cooked it long enough for it to thicken up, so this afternoon I made it again and this time I used 1 1/2 cups of sugar and 1 1/2 cups of white flour and 4 cups of water. and added the 2 tablespoons of Listerine to it while it was cooking did not add that part till it cooled down last night. Today I must say it is nice and thick. I even did a test with it and so far so good. and I even made some air-dry clay with this glue. I will be testing it out later tonight to make something with the clay to see how well it does. I really hope it does work very well especially for the air-dry clay I made. That was one of the main reasons I wanted to make this glue. Once I know how well this glue works in the air-dry clay I will update my comment so others will know as well. One thing I would like to know about this glue is I wonder how it does over time does it ever yellow or crack and break apart. This just seems too good to be true. If it works like I am hoping I will be a very happy camper. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. One thing that might help people out is to let them know about how long to cook it for me it was about 10 minutes give or take. One thing that people need to keep in mind is to make sure they are measuring accurately which makes a big difference.

Thank you so much for details. To be honest in my all recent videos in which I am making Dolls , I am using this glue to make her dresses, and once I am out of this I run to my kitchen add all ingredients without measuring and cook it till I feel it's thick enough for me, without checking time. It's my life saving project . I always make it for my all crafts almost.
@lifediarieswithart5 жыл бұрын
The question about getting yellow and smelling bad , it will only if you leave it out of fridge and even in fridge for more than 2 or 3 weeks. After all it's all made by natural ingredients not chemicals. So for sure it will damage . That's why I make it only for 1 week. And once it's finish I make it so fast . Thanks

Well, I was able to finally test this out and I still do not think I got this right. the glue thickened up and I thought it was going to work out. I tested it on just some paper and cardboard but it never really dried for me and I also made some homemade air-dried clay with it and the clay cracked not sure if it was the glue or something I was off on with my measurements. I really wish I could get this right because I really do want to be able to make this. If someone has made this that could share some more information about this please share what you have done. For me, I can not get this to work.

If you check my recent videos you will see I am using the same glue every day. I don't even measure now, I add half cup of white plain flour into room temperature water, stir it and than place it on fire ,keep stirring, once you see it's mixed well than I add sugar half cup almost (without measuring) mix it , cook for 1 or 2 minutes than add baking soda not powder,and lemon juice or vinegar. It will start to make reaction and bubbles. Keep string till you start to notice it's getting thick. At this point you can leave it less thick or very thick. When it became thick like pudding I add little water in case if I need it liquid . I am every other day making it. I don't know why from some people it's not getting well . Check out my latest videos and you will see . Thank you

Keep it in fridge. Make quantity only for the time being like 2 or 3 days. I kept it outside as well but it didn't attract any ants etc. But some areas are having so much ants and bugs. So better to keep it in fridge after using.
