I actually found an antique table that was used for a bowl and pitcher the hole in the middle was a perfect fit.

That is BRILLIANT!!! I love the clever tables I have seen!!! Even better when you can reuse something!

I would love to see you do a video on how you start your project, like do you use waste yarn for a few rounds then use your other yarn? Also how do you finish off your items to give them a nice finish? Love watching all your videos.
@HappyCraftyHomemaker2 ай бұрын
I do use waste yarn to start and finish each piece. I finish the pieces different ways. For the scarves I single crochet them closed through both layers. The hats I either just cinch or follow the X closure directions.

Great info, thank you! I've been considering purchase of a knitting machine for some time. First hand experiences like yours certainly help me in making the decision. Off-topic: I just have to take a moment to express how much I admire your tasteful and beautiful makeup. Obviously it's gilding the lily, as you are a lovely lady, but I can't help but appreciate your skill with cosmetics and your perfectly complementary color choices. Best wishes from north Texas.

That is just so sweet of you to say. I just generally prefer a more natural look. I have known my colors since I was a little kid and my mom taught me color correction to help me with covering acne and my black rings under my eyes.

I've only owned flatbed knitting machines, both plastic and metal...all gauges, numerous brands. I can't imagine using these circular knitting machines with so much plastic on them and having them last long even as a hobby machine. The flatbed plastic machines I owned can be used for years and years with proper maintenance. Ask me how I know! I no longer own a knitting machine but LOVED it when I did. I've decided to stick to hand knitting moving forward but really loved your video!

I would love to play with flat bed knitting, but it is so expensive to just play with it!! If I had done better with maintenance I think I easily could have gotten 2 to 3 times more yarn through my first Addi before the gears got worn down. I do really wish they would upgrade them to metal gears in the plastic housing.

I just got a Sentro last week for my birthday. I will be returning it because I didn't enjoy it. I love seeing other's use theirs and would still recommend it to others. Thank you for this informative video😊

Can you say why you didn't enjoy using it? I'm thinking of buying a knitting machine.
@Rachellovesyarn2 ай бұрын
@karenh2890 I have arthritis in my shoulders and cranking the handle hurt really bad. I also found the stitches to be not as nice as hand knitting (which I am learning). I was hoping to feel the same sense of accomplishment that I get from crochet/knitting but unfortunately I did not. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try it to give it a go. You never know if you will like it unless you try.

I do get it! It is a very different kind of satisfaction! If you decide to try again, with the shoulder pain I would go with the screwdriver. With the rotator cuff issues, I feel you on it though!

i use the same workbench and an electronic adapter for cranking (no longer available) - no issues (including not having to "shimmy") - re-greased a few times

That is wild!!! I haven't had a single experience that didn't require shimming the handle.

I have a much older machine - back when they came with an L.E.D. row counter which didn't work for anybody because of static (nice testing there)

I’m intreiged by the sleave idea. Do you need to work it as a panel to be able the do the decreases?
@HappyCraftyHomemaker2 ай бұрын
You do have to work it flat.

Really! It is just so crazy how each machine just has a preference! Finer does seem to go through so much easier! I am thinking about making some hooded scarves with the 3 weight!

No matter how many times I try I cannot successfully make a panel. My addi keeps dropping at the ends. I go slow and tighten it and use other tips from YT. Did you have that issue, or maybe I have a defective machine?
@HappyCraftyHomemaker2 ай бұрын
I haven't but I haven't made many panels. I did see where one lady was very clear about working over the next needle to make sure your piece doesn't drop.
@maricotodiz4475Ай бұрын
Yes you killed the machine, like a car and other things you have to be careful and also do the maintenance! Sorry but I have to say the true.
