You make me want to make a couple more of these. Very well done video. I am glad it has reached others and hopefully we will be seeing people wear these this coming up winter. Great for Christmas gifts.

Thanks Caz, excellent clear tutorial as always, just made one & amazingly no unintentional holes 🎉 I didn't bother leaving long tails just grafted the yarn on from the ball as needed ❤

Are you familiar with using the cordless drill and plastic attachment made from a 3d printer to do the cranking faster with out the hand stress. ❤game changer

I've been looking for scarf designs lately. This was perfectly timed for me lol thank you! Crochet is not a skill I possess, but this should be good practice. Also, during my journey of learning how to machine knit, I've learned ... that I HATE making tassels. lol I don't know why, but it's the bit that frustrates me the most.

I made this today. Overall good tutorial. My only critique would be to make the cast on and off ends longer. 5 ft isn’t enough for 3 rows of single crochet. I got just a few stitches into the second row when my yarn ran out based on my wingspan. I’d say somewhere between 10-15 feet would do it - 15 ft too be on the safe side unless one does a swatch beforehand to measure exactly.

Thanks for the info. 5 ft was ok for me on the one end but I must have measured short on the other. Always better to have more than less I guess. Glad you like the tutorial

When closing the ends is it important to end with the loop at the beginning of last round or the loop at the end that has the tail going through it? Does it matter?

Have you tried the foil in the handle on your old machine, watch Koala knits video she explains how to add it and what it does to help

Thanks Tracey, but I've stripped the machine down more times than I can count and I've tried all sorts of shims in the handle mechanism. It still works it's just no where near as nice as this new one, and I don't think it ever was either. This one feels so much more refined for some reason. But who knows maybe I'll try something else which I've been thinking about giving a go (maybe I'll video it) All the best Caz

Hi Caz, very new to this. I see from the video you have replaced the Addi machine with another Addi. Are Addi machines worth 4 to 5 times the price of a Sentro ? I have watched a comparison video and the only differences J picked up were is that it could be clamped to the table and the mechanics seemed slightly more robust. To me it didn't seem strong enough reason to pay 5 times the price if the Sentro. I would love to hear your reasons as an experienced machine knitter. Cheers

I found a deal online which tempted me to buy a newer one, my other one is still working ok just not as smooth now. I'm going to do a video on stripping it down and making some adjustments inside. I started with the Sentro 48 which I still have. It's a good machine but overall the Addi is more robust in build I feel. But if you want to get started and you're not sure if it'll be the craft for you the Sentro is def a great 1st step and I think about £30 UK on a certain auction site. All the best

Also if you have arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome it is better than a sentro in the way of the handle. It is so much bigger. I also have both and I love the addi and my 40 needle sentro.

What is waste yarn for. When I took it off I lost stitches and my project was ruined.
@craftycaz
@craftycaz 3 ай бұрын
I suspect you have missed out the vital stage of the tutorial sealing off the end of the tube before removing the waste yarn. The waste yarn hold the stitches in place while you seam a tube up. ONLY then do you remove it.
