So sweet of your husband to not only cut the wood but to sand it too! You owe him a nice dinner. (Preferably out. That way you win too.) I don’t know what wood cost but I was thinking I would buy a “set” for $25. I think most people would want a large & a small. So, I guess $10 & $15.

What a great project! Your hubby is so sweet to help you with this project! I am totally making these for my craft fairs! I already work with wood and scrapbook paper, so this would be an amazing addition. Someone mentioned making these double sided, which would be great for people putting these on coffee tables or a pass through. Just need a small embellishment for the other side...maybe a stocking or snowflake...hmmmm...now my mind is racing and can't wait to get out my miter saw! Maybe your hubby can cut a few triangles for you...paint them green and make into a Christmas tree. People can mix and match and maybe get a set for $20-$25. Deanna I just love how you inspire us to create more things! Thanks for always generously sharing your wonderful ideas!

Deanna , great idea and thank you for sharing. In my spare time, I am going to make some of these. I like the different sizes so will do both. I don’t think it would take too long too cut and sand which (to me) might be longer than painting. Doing them as an assembly will help the process. I am really looking forward to doing these and seeing if they sell in the Houston craft shows. I think for our craft shows I may sell at $5 and $7 or $6 and $8 and a set at either $10 or $12

Hi Deanna.I had my gift store 20ish years ago. The price on the items you made were similar to some I had in my store. They were handmade by a friend of mine. Price for the 2x4 house would be $10 and the 2x6 would be $15. I am sure they are worth more now. I also would recommend a sealer coating on the paper portion of your project. :)

That’s great on the price-I had guessed, and was way under priced. 😱 And I second the motion on sealing the paper. Maybe a spray sealant would be the best way to go since you have so many?

Your hubby is definitely a keeper...but you already know that! Those houses are the cutest. A grouping on the mantle would be awesome. If a person was really into Halloween decorating they would be cute in those kind of papers too. Thanks for sharing! Oh and if you use a small bowl of even a couple milk jug lids under your painted house to set the unpainted part on while it dries it will keep the painted surface off the paper plate.

This reminds me of my husband designing/cutting bird house kits for a Boy Scout project -- working with wood is very fun. Good craft idea!! Since you have paper and twined both sides, could add a different embellishment (bell, small wooden word/star, etc.) on 2nd side to make them "reversible" (this may be very appealing to a buyer -- doubles the functionality). Are you Mod Podging the paper after it is adhered to the wood? (helps to seal and makes it a little more "durable", and a more finished appearance) These are sure to be best-sellers!

Those are super cute! Did you figure out a price point on them yet? I would pay $7-8 for the bigger and $5 for the smaller. Maybe you could even do a price break for multiples like you do with your other items? (Three for $20? ) It’s hard because you never know what the crowd will be like, and what other VENDORS are selling. Those are going to be a big winner for you! Thank you for sharing the idea with us.🤗

Luck you have a husband wish I had one again. I would make these there lovely 😊 for decor or scatter don table for dinner 🍽 TFS Deann double what you paid for wood, pine sticks , paint ribbon rope ball and blings and dived how many you made each thing. Cause I was thinking $7 for small house and $9. For large house or you could make a 5” house and sell three for $18. That’s cause I do everything I threes or six with flower arrangements I learned that from my aunties them. When we made party decorating. TFS

Soooooooo adorable! And, as you said, they're quick. I really think you need a top coat over the paper, whether more mod podge or something. I would think at least $10 and $15. ..... But you know what? This project is SCREAMING for a way to personalize it. A banner below the wrewth, or a tag hanging off the jute, or something. It can say "The _____ Family". (Which saves you from being an English major when it comes to apostrophes, as in "The ____'s") Personalize at the show, so peeps can take it home that day. ..... Warning: anything personalized tends to sell super well. So maybe make a bunch more? .... And don't be afraid to ask peeps to come back in 20 minutes to pick up vs on the spot. .... Again, great idea!
