The problem has been 6 years of mismanagement that has ripped the club identity. @neo kudakwashe "decent" isn't enough for united. matic was already gone and only had about a year left in him. not sure how he could have been "developed". not worth spending half you annual transfer budget on certainly. maguire cannot turn or retrieve, and he's slow on the pass but has a good defensive header. fred loses the ball a lot and isn't very creative. wan bissaka is great defensively, but very average transitioning forward. pogba is already 29 and for what he promised he's not delivered. save for wan bissaka, there's not a great deal of development anyone can do with these players at this stage of their careers.

Utd have got more than enough to work with for a good coach to come in and do the job. Ronaldo said it best. When he left the club ambitions were still sky high and he was apart of it. Now that he's back he is completely flabbergasted by how far that motivation has fallen. He signed because he loves the club but I really think he didn't realize how far down they have fallen in terms of expectations in the dressing room. They need a coach to match that mindset of winning always who is also experienced and right now they don't have it. I don't see how much changes until that does unfortunately along with many more players. A 37 year old is your number one goal scorer both in the league and champions league by a far far margin... that's a problem considering the money you are spending week in week out on some of these other guys.

Bad signings. I'd been following bruno for a couple of seasons at sporting and while his production on field was measurable, the big question was always when the team was down or struggling. Craig's assessment about bruno's complaining and lack of mental strength is bang on. He would instantly sulk, get angry, and then look to blame a loss on circumstances outside of his own play. United lack a togetherness which other teams have cultivated thru a collective mental strength.

We need real wingers...like Anthony from Ajax, Dembele who can take defenders on and make good crosses for strikers midfielders like never, Valverde, renato Sanchez, who are good offensively and defensively. Box to box...I mean When you have two top strikers like cr7 and Cavani all you need is to put crosses in the box for them to just finish. If you look at Bayern Munchen, Real Madrid, Ajax, France, City, Liverpool, Dortmund, wingers are very productive. In modern football, if your wingers are weak and technically poor like Greenwood and them you will never win any title trust me
