You know it's in the vintage days when you see the registration sticker on the inside windscreen

It is so old, I think it was about the same time we signed a young Rick Kelly to drive the Formula Holden car.

Last of the locally made 5.7 Litre V8s. Just a few kilowats shy of a 3.5 Litre V6 fitted to the Lexus IS350 10 years later.

That VT 220 was for sale, seen it, unless someone brought the plates and just wanted one the same colour and put the thing up for sale. :)

All the old staff cars got sold after a certain time, although you wont find the original 300Kw GTS in it's original guide (GTS001) as it got restamped to GTS300.

Best of both worlds, just imagine what they have at home, built numbers ones of each of the models. :)

When the camera was in the back of the car you should have held it against the side of the headrest for a better video. Great to see the VT's driven properly.

Would have loved to have been able to, but being an od JVC VHS camcorder, it wasnt small and light. If it was done today, I would have had GoPros like we use in our HQ race car (search Michael Ling Racing HQ 70).

wow this must've been in 2000. see the ls1 clubby (like mine) fly past the 5.0L :)

Lowndes was in a VTII LS1 and Skaife was in the 220kw VT1 with the stroked 5.7

Yeah the LS1 is faster but the Iron Lion is Australia's own V8 , the GTS with the Aussie stroker will always be worth more than a clubby
