The Tory party is often where the only courage within those walls lays.. remember the difference in Tobias Ellwood rushing to the aid of PC Palmer .. there is more military background in the conservatives, and I’d vouch a Labour MP would never ever have ran towards danger in the same manner.

Honestly Craig might have decent odds of winning. He’ll get some good publicity out of this, and the Tories are typically seen as weak on the NHS, Craig can reasonably argue he won’t be. Plus there’s huge potential for some self depicting campaign leaflets “Now 25% less Tory”, “Representing my constituents, even if it costs me an arm and a leg.”

He’s very lucky to be alive. And fortunate to be able to have the money for those prosthetics without having to wait a long time and fundraise to afford them. Maybe there will be more compassion in the house for people with disabilities and long term conditions having someone with direct lived experience in a seat. Sad to say that but sometimes this is what it takes for change to happen. Maybe it will also pave the way for other disabled people to come forward as MPs.
