Clearly, many NHS workers ARE exceptional at their jobs, as evidenced, for example, by the many, many patients, (self included), who survive illnesses which would otherwise kill them. At the very least, working the wards teaches them what their job entails and confers expertise at that level. That being said, I half agree with you. For example, if those responsible for putting, (largely meaningless), targets ahead of patient safety, had been "weeded out", things may never have got so bad in the first place.

If this doesn't happen (and it's not happening), then the flip side is STUPID profits, hundreds of millions of pounds, being lifted out of the UK economy by individual companies alone, and placed in offshore accounts, meaning that the UK government has to print money to put back into the economy, leading to rising inflation which affects the poorest people hardest. Louth and Horncastle is a backwater rural area mainly populated by farming landowners and rich pensioners who drive Jaguars whilst crying poverty and remember the 'war' even though their DoB is after 1945. She gets on well with them because she's not Labour and cosplays in countryside getup even though she's a born and bred Posh Londoner. We were hoping Reform would pick up more support to split the vote enough for Labour to clinch a win, but Victoria's re-election campaign built around "Saying no to Pylon's" was apparently enough to win her seat back. That and the Reform candiate shot himself in the foot by claiming to be a farmer, when he actually only bought a farmhouse in the area and has never worked the land in his life, not really going down well with the local NFU.

She is my MP, I wrote to her about the lack of NHS dentist in her constituency while she was SoS. Got a load of waffle back as expected. She has the audacity to talk about conflict of interest. Her Hubby is a director of British Sugar, and many other food processing companies and a gravel company. Processed food and sugar are not good for one's teeth, and who buys cheaper processed food, mainly people who cannot afford private dental treatment. Also eating gravel isn't good for teeth.
