Craig Morgan served over 9 years in the military, and still visits troops overseas, he also saved 2 children from a burning building, and then after losing his son he writes and performs a song like this that brings comfort and hope to millions of people who have lost loved ones. This is a great man. God bless him.

@@mikejohnson9944 Actually, he served over 9 years. Not music. He actually served. He was active duty followed by the reserves. Saying that he served 9 tours in Afghanistan is incorrect, the OP is probably confused, but Craig is an Army vet. His time playing music was after that. He's pretty amazing.

Indexed it brings comfort from another grieving parent. The pain never ends, it just feels numbing. No parent should ever know the pain of losing a child. Praying for your peace Craig and Karen. With love, The Lea Family Montgomery, Texas

Craig Morgan has not let success go to his head. Very few performers would sing a song to a special child; out for $ and could care less what kind of impression they're leaving behind. I'm glad she got that smile from him. "Your sissy isn't gone." She's in your heart. She's got the Father, God's Son and the Holy Ghost cradling her in their love. And someday, you'll be together again. Live your life for the Lord. Just said a prayer for you. 🙏❤

Craig if you happen to read this I want you to know I wish I could just hold you and give you a big ky hug. This song you wrote hit so close to home for me it’s exactly the way my life is right now and how I feel. I feel so heart broke you lost such a good son you can see he was such a beautiful soul and how much you and Karen loved him. Me and my wife Dee lost our son in December 2022 he was depressed and let alcohol take his life he had a good job was doing well had 2 babies to take care of. He was the best good hearted boy I knew I loved him so much but after 5 weeks of hospital tubes and machines I had to let him go. But I have talked to much but to anyone that has lost their child there is no other pain. Thank you for this heart breaking song Craig Morgan it has helped heal a little more each day. Ps you are the best country music has to offer.

After he sang it at the Opry he told an Opry member backstage who liked it, that it was good he saw it as he could never sing it again. They convinced him that people needed to hear it. Craig has said in another interview that he can't always sing it, and it depends on how he's doing, the venue and the audience.

I was there(Grand Ole Opry) this night. It was the night Luke Combs was inducted into the Opry. The crowd was electric that night. Craig Morgan said a few words about his son, then sang this song. When this song was being sung I knew we were watching something special that night. I told everyone that was sitting next to us that night that you just saw one of the best songs I've ever heard being sung for the first time. There was a standing ovation after this song was sung (and i might add NOT a dry eye in the place).

He said that after just barely making it through this song and walking offstage, Ricky Skaggs had a kind word for him. Craig said, "I'm glad you got to hear it because I'll never do it again." Ricky told him, "You HAVE to sing this song! There are people that need to hear this song; you have to do it." The comments here and so many others show that to be true. A good song might make us feel better for a little while, but a GREAT song helps us put words to the things we feel that seem so unspeakable.

Marshall Austin I don’t believe in God, but this song is beyond beautiful! My brother took his life in 2004 and my mom passed 6 months later. People who downvoted just don’t have a heart!

Why have thumbs down? Don't you have a heart and you do not feel the pain of losing a loved one? This singer deserves praise because he expresses his true feelings through the song and because of this many people who also lost thier loved one had hope and inspiration

Why would 586 people give a thumbs down to a mans song that he wrote about his son who drowned??? 😳. We live in a day I could never have imagined where people are losing respect for others. No compassion. This is one of the most touching, real songs I’ve ever heard on Country Radio. Craig Morgan has a great voice. If you don’t like it, just pass on by. Please don’t give a thumbs down to a man who is trying to heal from losing a child.

No father should ever have to bury their child. This breaks my heart, God bless this man for having the strength to wake up every day, pray, and live. Truly a powerful song
