Theres a famous video from filming Lethal Weapon where a car is supposed to jump through a glass facade while two window-washers duck aside. In one take (allegedly partially used in the movie), they get the timing wrong and one stunt-guy gets hit in the head by the car. He survived, apparently.

I'm a big fan of watching car stunts, whether if it's old or new, seeing various car chases and jumps always puts a smile on my face. And seeing the behind the scenes makes me appreciate the movies a bit more. And while the later F&F movies steered clear of what put it on the map, I still have a soft spot for the over the top nature of the car stunts and crashes.

We can think whatever we want about the franchise currently but one thing we can't do: sub estimate the job of those who not only elaborate the action scenes we see on screen but also those who actually make them real on camera. Brave work from brave people that deserves recognition for their work on Fast and Furious and other productions for tv and theaters.

They actually did show off different car types apart from Dodge, such as various European supercars, a Middle Eastern hypercar, several oldies in Cuba, several concept cars, etc. While I get your distain for the direction the franchise has taken, I feel like they have some charm to the different kinds of cars they used in every subsequent movie. Of course, I'm one of the few people that doesn't boycott a new movie for not being Tokyo Drift 2.0 (much as I'd like to see a continuation to that story and setting), and I think there is some merit to how the franchise branched out, though I felt like it ended nicely with part 7, but that's just me.
