I primarily watched Prime Videos BECAUSE they were ad free. I canceled my Prime account as soon as Amazon sent out an email regarding the addition of ads. If I shop now at Amazon, which is less, I wait until I need enough stuff for free shipping. I think that all these increases fo more for greater revenue than to add content.

Cancelled my prime subscription. Part of the good thing about the prime video subscription service was that it was competitively priced, binge watching, and no adverts. Prime you still had to pay for some things but they did some good own content. Their minimum spend for free postage also went up a few months ago too. Ads are a step too far 😩

My attitude is, I know what I want and don't need an ad to entice me to buy something. In fact, I use ads to inform me of what to never buy. You want to interrupt my time then I will purposely never buy your product for wasting my time. Without ads, I could get through more episodes or watch an extra movie or two before I go to bed. My time is valuable to me and since I am not drawn to marketers trying to sell useless crap to me, I will purposely cancel any service trying to extort me for more money when I have already been loyal subscriber for a long time. Just got my prime video ad charges notification here in the UK. Not paying them another penny. Also just had a notification from Ring . Starting 11 March 2024, the price of Ring Protect Basic will change from £34.99/year to £49.99/year per device. Last year's rise was £10. so a 100% increase in 2 years. Nope ring is cancelled now, these companies have no idea how ordinary working people are drowning in increased charging for everything. But I think they have pushed too hard this time, people will refuse to pay it.

i see it completely different. One is a service and one is a change that affects the use of the device. I bought echos before ads ever existed on Echo shows. They added them to my device and there is no way to turn it off. Streaming services are services I opted into. If I am not satisfied, I push a button and no longer use the service. I would be pissed at Apple If they started putting the same kind of ads on my Apple TV. I spent the extra money for Apple TV for an ad free experience that Fire TV sticks don’t have. That would be changing the hardware and ecosystem I bought into. Services I am flexible with. Thanks for watching.

Hi! Thanks for sharing. I recently reduced my Netflix subscription from $21 per month to $5 and what I thought was ad supported, because, like you I don’t have a big problem with ads. After all a lot of us grew up on ad supported tv. I realized that certain content was just not available at that subscription level. It is getting so expensive to stream, that I am thing about throwing in the towel and give up on all streaming and go with what ever free live tv I could find. They will all lose me as a customer!

Most of these companies are adding ads in because they give a free trial and that way they can make revenue off the free trial most people will opt for the average service for a few extra dollars. But my question is do they raise the price where it's unaffordable to have the ads removed and people often out not to have their service at all.

Prime video is the least valuable service you get with a prime account. If I want to watch a movie or tv series, I fire up the old dvd player. There isn't much out I want to watch that is exclusively on a streaming service. Craig, are you old enough to remember when cable first came out? It was billed as a pay service for specialized channels that you wouldn't have to watch advertisements since you paid for the service. That didn't last long.

I called them up and said either they remove the ads for me or I reduce my spending on shopping with them. They refused so now they are getting a 10x reduction in revenue and I've stopped watching prime video too so they're not even making it back with ad revenue. I recommend everyone does the same, call them, tell them what you're gonna do and then cut spending. If enough people actually call and do it they'll drop ads.

I called clueless customer service to find out why i no longer haventhe Doolby and they could not give me an answer. While on phone i asked Alexa how do i get dolby vision vision and atmos on Amazon Prime Video, and the response was to subscribe for the Ad free and pay $2.99. I just got into FreeVee. I actually found, maybe it's just the station I watch, the ads are shorter and fewer than network. I've been watching A Team on that Universe? Action channel. And I watched some of the World Poker channel and liked it. Paramount plus is a pay service and they had three minutes of ads to even get into the show I didn't stick around to see how bad it was during the show.

I have Peacock that I paid $29.99 for the year, my hubby pays for Prime, and I have the Hulu/Disney monthly for $10.98 which I will be dropping because they don't want me to go to different States, use my accounts there. They want to stalk me and keep tabs on me when I go overseas, vacation and to see my daughter or mom but yet my husband is home but yet I travel so how can they justify canceling your service if your not always home but keep a roku at each place I stay at. I do watch a lot of Pluto though which I love.❤ pretty aoon I will probably drop all my streaming services, I have an antenna so who needs them! They cam take their increases and stick them where the sun doesn't shine!!!
