I played this cassette tape over and over while painting the outside of my house. 3 weeks before, My Dad had died of a heart attack. Today, I still remember the smell of the paint, the warmth of the sun. Oh how I cried through all the work. Miss him and miss Delores. Life is too short! She was a unique soul, as was my Dad.

Getting old is certainly a bittersweet feeling, one of the pleasure of life I guess the memory of what is and what could have been and knowing you are better for it and still not dead, joie de vivre till I'm dead, and young people get off my lawn.

Yes, its great that its actually live and not lip syncd. However, its 4 chords played exactly the same 7 times, Its the same chord progression through the verse and chorus. They are using a few non standard major chords which make it sound interesting, but all in all a simple, yet great tune.

It’s not a rite of passage for success, not really. It’s an all to common fate for artists. They feel more intensely than a lot of us, and that intensity can fuel both their creative output and the anguish that they carry with them in most of their waking moments. Nobody gets hooked on alcohol or opioids or cocaine or anything else because they’re happy, healthy, and feeling well. Rest in peace, Delores. Thank you so much for the gifts you gave the world.

The 90's offered such a wealth of music for every taste. If you're old enough (like me), you miss these simple live performances on US comedy shows. Artists performed the hits but usually put their own spin on it. A sympathetic and encouraging host awaited them. Great end to the evening. RIP Dolores, we love you.

This takes me back to the 90s. Being a teenager and heading to school on those cold Denver mornings in the back of a Plymouth valiant that smelled like my grandparents. She was a great, great songwriter, pouring her heart onto the page, and then singing from the heart. Yes, I can certainly relate to being "a fool", for a few. And it lingered. I love how her Irish accent creeps into the vocals, and then some seemingly Gaelic vocalization mid song. Enchanting. So incredibly sad that she killed herself with alcohol. That sadness you can hear in her voice was, apparently, in her heart as well.

Glad I got to see them up close in 2009 on their come-back tour. I really miss Delores. She's gone way too soon. Her songs had a healing effect on me.

I just started college, met this awesome girl and spent an amazing few weeks with her until she hit me with a “let’s just be friends for a bit” lol. So that hurts, not knowing where I’m going with her or if we’re ever gonna be together again. Anyway, I got into the cranberries and this song recently and now it has a much more real meaning. As bad as I feel about the situation right now, I also think it’s pretty cool that a song from 30 years ago is still tangibly impactful like that.

I hate that time flies so fast. I remember when this first came out, cliche I know, but seems like yesterday. Dolores passed on so young, hard listening to this, yet hard not to listen. She was amazing.❤

Stupid me, I overlooked this song and when when this song came out, thought it was nothing to get excited about. I just listened to it here and was blown away by how powerful it is, it a great song. Can't believe it took me so long to figure it out. Oh well, what's most important is I figured it out. Kinda sad I didn't follow them back in the day.

Was about 15 when this masterpiece came out, met my wife 5 years later and forgot about it. Oddly enough when the film 'Click' came out I heard it and teared up in a second. That is how awesome this song is

there is pain. learn from this, because she is not unique. friends of mine remain uninsured because they've been prescribed antidepressants. we have criminalised sadness. she's not quaint. she's a warning sign. because, biblical speaking that's what "angels" are. warnings. get a grip and help those around you.

Man, I miss Dolores O'riordan" such a beautiful lady, small in size, she had the heart of a Lion, small petite lady, but full of courage to go out there and sing her beautiful voice around the world, she has left her mark and she will not be forgotten, including her humble talented bandmates who I can only imagine how much they all miss Dolores" God Bless Her"

I sadly forget hearing of her partying, it was on 5 live radio. We were sat down having our tea and I made my excuss and left the room for the bathroom.....I cried my eyes out. I was at university and there were only four bands in my book from Throm the 90's....... Cranberries, Manic's, Blur, Oasis. Her voice was raw but so beautiful/unforgettable! X
