4:05 deburring is a lost art, get it out the door now is today's motto. Can't tell ya how many new parts in the last 10yrs are like that, and even good quality stuff. Has everyone's deburring tools broken?

Where the clear plastic mount on way not mack that thicker so you have room to tap it with mini screw's and the clear plastic drill mini holes that way the clear plastic cover will stay on

I don’t know what I was thinking. When I tinkered with the valve lashes I didn’t need to replace the gasket. Go to change the camshaft/compression release mechanism and the camshaft is melted onto the side and couldn’t get it off in one piece. Now I got to replace the gasket.

When I was doing that I noticed a little black washer. Then when I looked at the replacement kits there was also a washer piece. Not sure where it goes but was hoping this video helped show that.

I need to find a higher temp plastic that is still chemical resistant. That leaves me looking at PP or maybe ABS

Are those 4 holes around the crankshaft boss on the crankcase cover threaded? If so what size bolt did you use?

@@redneckcomputergeek oh my apologies I have not seen those then. Only reason I ask is I've seen a few videos and don't see many dual horizontal cylinders but a lot of singles. Is there any particular reason why single cylinders are more popular. Also have you ever done a dual exhaust build? I'm curious how that would sound.

Does it have to be a generator engine or can it be a stock 212cc predator engine

ABS can sustain 110*C, PET-G and PLA only 85*C Head can heat up waaaay higher.

Need to do some research and see if ABS can survive the oil. If so will order some next month and make valve covers for a bunch of engines.

@@redneckcomputergeek ABS has its own issues, it generates toxic fumes while printing and it shrinks a lot. Maybe there are some newer materials.

For some reason I'm thinking, surprised you don't have a waste oil burner to heat your place? TIG for the best welds. FCAW'it is what I've started off with like as a reborn welder of and on. Ew... looks like you got reamed on that one... or actually need a reamer? Uuhmm... inventive ways to avoid patent infringement? :-) Yeah. I still want to cut down a generator rotor and see if can make a straight shank adapter using one that's bad. Would be handy if someone sold a drill or maybe even reamer or cutter of some sort that cut those tapered shanks.

After a bit of hunting around. I can buy a 14mm brill bit. The allinment pins I should have seen coming. That said $40 is cheaper than $160

the 3d printed valve cover might need a clamp ring to go around the perimeter of the base to keep equal clamping force, i think either Moroso or Hendrix made a Polymer valve cover for big block chevrolets and it had an aluminum clamp ring to keep the covers from warping and leaking, far as my opinion on 3d printing, its if you can print it with a material that can handle the heat for the application, there is no wrong way to test it, experimentation is what classic hotrodding was about, why do go-karts and mud mowers have to be any different?, figure out what works for you, and go with it brother, stay safe out there

By the time you do all of that work to convert it over to a go kart engine a guy could just as easy get a different side shaft engine from something else to be honest. Not hating on you brother just simply saying lol. Keep the videos coming.

It's very generous of you to offer the intake printing file for download. The manifold, like you stated ( I have been looking for something exactly like this) is not available anywhere and allows for better air flow without sticking straight out. Is there any chance you will be offering these for purchase?

Right now they are in beta test. The big problem is cost to ship. The $10 in shipping cost makes it a cost of $20 total to be worth it.

When looking for an old generator for a go kart engine I would first be sure not to get a Predator. You wouldn't have those issues with a 196 or 208.
