Thanks for the Cummins blow-by trick. I will be doing this on my bus very soon. What a perfect way to elminate so many issues. I too am plagued with rear main seal leaking/drip (new)at idle/load from blowby.

Crankcase evac system. Drag racers been doing it forever.👍
@JC-gw3yo10 ай бұрын
and if you want to buy these parts instead of making them, Moroso sells a crankcase evacuation kit. I believe it was first used by the pro stock guys. For best performance, should be installed past the muffler, especially if the muffler is restrictive

Can I plug the camshaft area OEM breather and use a valve cover breather off the Case tractor tapped into the exhaust? It should keep the air suspended oil from escaping from the OEM breather.
@CUTTERUPROB Жыл бұрын

Thanks for this Rob. Will it hurt the motor to run just a catch can on the frame rail for drips? If a person can't get to the exhaust side for a while. Just wondering if not properly scavenging with a venturi will build presure.

I know I'm overthinking it, but could you go into the turbo elbow from a vented valve cover? In my head it looks clean and the elbow could be removed but I think its cast so hard to wield?
@CUTTERUPROB Жыл бұрын
On the air take side you can. But then the junk goes into the turbo. On the pressure side you can’t
@alexsails809 ай бұрын
Hi Rob. Just watched this one again. What hose material can take the heat? In my application the venturi tube would enter the exhaust pipe about 12 inches from the turbo outlet flange.
@CUTTERUPROB9 ай бұрын
I am not sure on that one. I have always made it down steam a bit. I am sure they’re is something that would work. Maybe talk to your local hydro shop.

Been thinking about doing this to my 02 24V. It has that ridiculous plastic catch can mounted to the front of the engine. Maybe get some good hydraulic hose and route to beyond the muffler.

Rob, could this trick be used on my close to stock 1st Gen (92 5.9 Cummins) crew cab I'm building. Just running the crankcase hose to the exhaust. Making it run better and no drip sounds like a positive to me. The only thing you didn't mention was about a type of "high heat hose" to use? Thanks again for I think a Great tip 👍

Question, would it be a good idea to put a check valve on the venturi tube? Or not necessary?

12v have the breather vent for valve cover and keating tappet cover with two baffled 12an breather ports, was planning on doing a catch can with breather filter to it. Maybe I could do the drain to exhaust and keep it open. Or just do the tappet cover breathers straight exhaust. What would you recommend?

I have a similar set up and same question. Will two “Y” adapters work, should we use a larger pipe at the Venturi or decrease the number of ventilation points?
@CUTTERUPROB Жыл бұрын
You guys. Am just tie them together if you want. But I find you can just use one. If you have more then one pick the highest one on the engine

I have add a second vent to my 12v. Since I have compounds. What happens if u have no exhaust like a hood stack like most race trucks or pulling trucks.
@preachers4135 Жыл бұрын
How long is your hood stack? You could try putting the venturi in the hood stack but if it’s a short stack it might not have enough velocity to create a vacuum.
@CUTTERUPROB Жыл бұрын
I would add a Venturi and a catch can tied into it and just use one vent line
