Definitely the best channel for people trying to learn you dont skip anything unlike most guys who show a quick clip then come back when its 90% done

Thanks!! I try my best to keep it very informative as well as skip all the Bs that you don’t need to watch (like unscrewing a bolt for 30 seconds) Glad you’re enjoying it :)

Only a few comments? You are sharing a lot of information here. I think the best video I've come across, it answers a lot of questions for me. I really appreciate it.

Wow, thank you! I tried to make it very info heavy while not making it too long, glad you enjoyed it! I’m sure I’ll get more comments overtime, the video is still pretty new :)

@Hazardous-Hotrod-Knowledge I've looked for information on making adjustments while on the truck to explain the fine tuning part of the pump. I have a 95 donor truck to use on my 01 vp44 that is starting to have issues and I know this is part of the process.

Super informative and well delivered definitely earned my sub I’m fixing to do a top end rebuild on my 24v in a couple months here and this series will be super helpful when I’m swapping out the ol’ vp44

Glad you liked the video! I've gotta put my propaganda out for the war against VP44s 🤣I'm working on editing the next couple uploads, apologizes for the delays!

47re is a actually a great transmission. Once you upgrade the line pressure, torque converter, and valve body, it is super strong. Because if their fast shifting, Chevy guys often swap them in place of their Allisons for drag racing. They could use another gear though. All that said, I prefer manuals.

Don't agree with everything , but verry informative. Learned something. Ps; I'm running afc live from power driven diesel.

Can 13mm barrels and plungers be dropped into a 12mm pump, or is machine work required?
@LSD38084 ай бұрын
This is a dumb question but where can I locate the AFC on 24v when the motor is in?
@tunesandturbos88304 ай бұрын
This is only applicable to a p7100 pump. If your truck is swapped then it will be located in the same area as shown. If not, and you have the factory style vp44 then it is all electronic and needs a tuner.

Pretty much what he said! Thanks for helping it out tunesandturbos!

I have a V-8 with a p-pump. Would these modifications still be the same? It's in a tractor of mine and I am relatively new to the world of mechanical injection.

A lot of good information and long time questions I've had, answered! But I also have some more questions on the rack plug. Specifically with the 215 pumps and their unique ability of being over racked causing over fueling in the injection window. Any knowledge on this? Maybe make a short video how and why this happens only with 215s?
@Hazardous-Hotrod-Knowledge11 ай бұрын
All pumps with a rack plug can be “over racked” where fuel injection duration is very long. The 215 pump is actually the best one to do this to because at max rack it adds quite a bit of timing advance (like 6-8*?) which compensates for the long injection duration. Does this make sense?

Is part 5 not out yet? I'm doing this conversion at home and these videos are very helpful. I'm looking for the part where the pump is mounted in particular. there seems to be no clearance for regular tools to tighten the rear upper nut (manifold is in the way). Everyone else doesn't show the answer to that .
@Hazardous-Hotrod-Knowledge9 ай бұрын
Sorry about the massive delay, I just uploaded part 5! I can’t remember at the moment if I mentioned the upper inside nut, when I mounted the pump I had the cylinder head off, but in case I didn’t mention it in the video I like to use a stubby 15mm socket, a universal, then a long 3/8 drive extension to a ratchet. Putting grease in the socket to hold the nut helps, and wrapping electrical tape around the universal keeps it from flopping too much (or you can do the O ring trick)

Love this video! After all the AFC fueling upgrades and bigger injectors and DVs. Are rack plugs still a good idea? Or is it just a waste of time and $15?
@Hazardous-Hotrod-Knowledge Жыл бұрын
Honestly, theres no hurt in installing it if you have the pump off... it gives you that option for the future. I just wouldnt rely on it to get that last ounce of power out for combinations that could otherwise go with larger injectors or delivery valves.

Very nice!! Love the content and love the pump talk. I enjoy anything P pump related!!! I Was wondering how you like the rack plugs on 215 pumps? Ive only used them on 180s and lower, heard before that they can lead to stuck racks on 215s because the plunger design, being that they twist and advance? would like to know your thoughts on it. Keep it up!!!!!
@Hazardous-Hotrod-Knowledge Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Same here I can blab on and on about p pump stuff haha! The risk sticking a rack is possible on all pumps, with rotating the barrels and getting a rack plug you can get the plungers into a new area of wear I believe. I typically don’t do rack plugs, and I only do the hillbilly bench if I want absolutely everything out of a pump instead of upgrading something else such as injectors or a cam

Great video by the way! I'm doing the same thing and would like to know if you used the stock injectors or did a repop to a different specification? Thanks and greetings from Montana!

I think if you was to run the DAP 5K gov springs you should have the pump sent off for them to be set up properly. Not to say every set will have erratic idle problems but without proper shiming I have a feeling a fella would run into issues
@Hazardous-Hotrod-Knowledge Жыл бұрын
I was able to get them to work right, it was sorta this pump being a weird beast with how light the shimming had to be, the last like 10 pumps I’ve done I’ve never had issues
