I still believe the vent being blocked is the only problem this engine has. Here are two examples of vents that are not blocked and a vent that is blocked. I guess we will find out soon.

Did you see what caused the blockage? On a china gy6 engine I saw a big long piece of gasket that was not cut away in the factory reaching over an open space, wall to wall in the crankcase below the crankshaft. If I remember correctly it was about 5-7 cm long and 1.5 cm high gasket, I can see how that eventually breaks off and falls into the oil. It is apparently common they don't do the assembly properly at factory and skip on cutting those away.

Sorry for digging up old content but did you find an air filter for the crank case to connect it there in a store or jsut drilled it and pluged a connector?
@fan17014 жыл бұрын
The store we purchased the motorcycle from replaced the engine and we reconnected the vent hose back to the air filter. The new engine has had no problems since. This vent can have a hose that attached that hangs down behind the engine without a vent and it will be fine. There are small air that can be attached to the end of the hose. Just do a search for a filter that has a inlet diameter the same as the hose size. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Possible the breather is cam driven???? I very much doubt it, or even solenoid activated? Or perhaps they just gone messed up? (Me thinks the latter) Good thing you found it early! Nice spot indeed.

I thought crankcase breathers are suppose to be a one way check valve that only let pressure OUT of the crankcase. So they’re really open in both directions?
@bertoldriesenteil14302 жыл бұрын
There is a valve that only lets air out once it has reached a certain level within the hose on my Suzuki GN125. So blowing air in is no problem. Sucking air out would be more difficult but I wouldn't try it for obvious reasons.
@jeffflowers72911 ай бұрын
Me too. I have a 21hp B&S blowing oil from the dipstick and burning out the exhaust. I can suck air easily but not blow into it. Sucking air would be the correct direction into the carb. So now I'm stumped again.

If this vent is blocked it will cause engine oil to leak and will blow out the seals at the kickstart, behind the flywheel. Thanks for watching.

This might be a dumb question but i cut one of my lines conected to the breather systems and i did it too short, where do i get the same kind of line i have no clue i just bought my apollo 125
@fan17013 жыл бұрын
Most auto parts stores should have hose that small. You could get some off an old junk vehicle from the windshield washer hose. A hardware store would probablt have a union that would let you just stick the hoses back together where you cut them.
@fan17013 жыл бұрын
Make sure you tighten all the bolts and nuts on your Apollo. Chinese motorcycles and atvs tend to need the bolts tightened all over them. Keep that chain oiled before each ride to make it last longer and not stretch as much.

@fan17012 жыл бұрын
I wound up with a replacement engine from the dealer. You should contact the dealer you bought from ASAP. There is a form you'll need to fill out that should be on their website. Since replacing the engine we have had no major issues with it. I had to ship my defective engine back to the dealer so I'd imagine you will as well. I had to go around and around to get my engine replaced so be persistent with them. If you keep riding the bike with it building pressure you will wind up blowing out an oil seal so keep that in mind.

I’m late on this brother but will this work on cars also?
@fan17015 жыл бұрын
Cars also have engine vents but they usually are connected to a valve on the intake. These can get stopped up too but most of the time they don't. Thanks for watching and commenting.

The dealer replaced the engine. I would have found a way to clear the blockage or drilled a vent in the top valve cap then thread a fitting for a vent hose there. Bike has been great since the engine swap. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Pressure builds up in the crankcase and it will blow out your seals.
@vixsy59117 күн бұрын
What problems does this cause
@fan17017 күн бұрын
It causes a build up of pressure inside the crankcase that will cause the oil to be forced out through anywhere it can such as the fill tube and can push out the oil seals.
@steviemurdoch32135 жыл бұрын
And the point was?
@fan17015 жыл бұрын
The point was that the engine vent on the china engine from the db14 was blocked and should have been free to vent. This was causing it to pressurize and leak oil everywhere. I was sent a replacement that worked perfectly and wasn't blocked. Thanks for watching and commenting.

They are good beginner bikes IF you are somewhat mechanically inclined. We have had great luck with it and I would buy another one. Japanese bikes do tend to be built stronger.

I own a Honda walk behind lawnmower with an OHV engine that oil comes out of the breather tube and collects in the air filter holder. The oil from there drips down on to the mower deck. How do I troubleshoot and fix this problem?

@@deonleak8067 I was told by someone else on here that the valve behind the vent tube is not doing its job. They said to remove the flywheel to get to that area by prying gently on the flywheel after loosing the flywheel nut and hitting the top of the crankshaft with a rubber hammer.
