Hi Ed. You are so correct in saying that one can hear the difference between an unbalanced unit and a balanced unit, or even as it is being balanced, one can hear the tone changing. Great job once again. Thanks for an interesting video. 👍

Thanks Anthony, I really appreciate you watching and commenting. I know that you would know about hearing the change. Some people that do balancing know this. Have a great day. 👍

Thank you Anthony, I really appreciate you watching and the positive comment. No, they are not right from the factory. Not even close. I have been having crankshafts balanced for over 45 years, been an advocate for it over 50 years. But it wasn't until I started balancing August of 1985 that my real education and journey began. Been 39 years, I had a great teacher. But experience and time was the best teacher over time. Thanks again. Have a good evening. 👍

Looks good Ed. It would be interesting to see how close G.M. had the crank when it left the factory, we will never know.

Thanks Randy, I really appreciate you watching and commenting. I would take a guess and say it was within 20 to 30 grams at 3.5 in. Radius. I will day the Dynamic balance was perfect as positioning. The factory did pretty good. I see alot of cranks that are not good! The rods very per end up to 10/12 grams. Pistons 3 grams. The Flywheel was out almost 20 grams at 3.5". So the total of all the components could end up being alot. I was told once the factory was within 50 grams per end, R and L. Have a great day.👍🇺🇸👍

Hi Ed, looks like you are getting very close to assembling this one. I notice you're drilling the holes dry, is this to avoid getting cutting oil on the balancing equipment?
@edsmachine932 ай бұрын
Hi Andy, good to hear from you. Thanks for watching. I use cutting oil sometimes, but it makes a mess. This works ok. I can vaccuum the chips up. Have a great weekend.👍

So when does Mallary mental come into play
@edsmachine932 ай бұрын
Hi Kurt, thank you watching. Heavy Metal, Mallory Metal is used to internally balance a crankshaft when the counter weight is to light. Or you are converting from external balance to internal balance . Have a great weekend. 👍
