If they would have brought that in valve up so the valves would have been across the center of the chamber.
@edsmachine93Күн бұрын
Hi David, thanks for watching and commenting. They did alot of things wrong. Should have filled the quench area behind the exhaust seat. Moved the spark plug over towards the exhaust valve, added material below the exhaust seat for a longer short turn. Reshaped the exhaust port, raised it up and got rid of the hook in the floor. Raised the intake floor. But with all that said, these heads will make big power for what they are. Have a great 4th of July. 👍🇺🇸

I have something similar to do very soon. (not moto).Can you please tell me if I use a reamer instead of a boring head, the hole comes out wider than the specifications of the reamer? For ecample if I use a 24 mm reamer, the final hole will be exactly 24 or it will be 24.02 or 0.3 or more.(low speed on machine) I'm asking you because I want to learn from the best. Thank you Ed !
@edsmachine93Күн бұрын
Hi Jimmy, thanks for watching. Sometimes reaming can produce good results. In a lathe, best to use a floating reamer holder. That can size pretty good. In a mill, clamped down, if you are not perfectly aligned to the hole. You can get an odd sized hole, taper or bellmouthed. Best to do a sample part. Sometimes a taper reamer vs a chucking reamer can make a difference. Boring is the best. You always can finish ream a bored hole. Sizing can be good. Have a good week. 👍

Ed I have a Sioux 657 valve grinder that doesn't have a coolant system on it can I still cut angles with it and polish them later or try to invent a cooling system.. thanks
@edsmachine933 күн бұрын
Hi James, thanks for watching. You need to try and rig up a coolant system and use some valve grinding oil. You can get oil from Goodson Products Co. A small tank for a reservoir and a small pump. A flexible line . I am sure you can do this. Your valve grinding performance will be much better. Have a great week. 👍

This was what I would do at ustp I made the most dust in the shop. If it was a double disk I would run a die grinder around the outside to take that bevel out. The boss told me if we did not do that the new clutch would ride on the outer bevel and burn up. I would then use an old center plate with a handle to align the 4 dowels
@edsmachine934 күн бұрын
Good morning CrizCriz, That's very interesting. I have never done the Diesel flywheels and floaters. Mainly Automotive and light trucks and tractors. You sound like you used the grind stones? This is a CBN wheel. Not as much dust as the old grinding wheels. Have a great day. 👍
