Crankshaft Position Sensor 1997 Dodge 5.2 or 5.9l engines

This is a very in-depth instructional video on how to switch out the crankshaft position sensor for the 2nd generation (1994-1999) Dodge 5.2 or 5.9l engines. This video goes over what other instructional videos have left out when changing the CPS. I give you tips on how to locate it, what you must do before removing it and where to find the harness, plus how to replace it. Please bare with me as I do tend to be long winded but I am very descriptive, which is necessary when working on a vehicle, if you care to have the job done correctly and easily. Thank you. FYI another suggestion is to use a Mopar CPS because I purchased an O'Reilly after market and had to change it 2x, which I still had shifting issues before I finally spent the little extra on the Mopar.

My 95 Dodge Ram was cutting out intermittently. I tuned it up. New plugs, wires, dist, ignition coil, Cam sensor, etc. It was running better, but it would still start acting up after about 15 minutes of driving. Sometimes it would stumble and stutter, sometimes it would just die like someone flipped a switch. I finally changed the crank sensor and I've run it for several days now with no issues!

A lot of unesGot mine out in about 10-min. With out doing all that. Take off the air breather. Just reach behind the motor with a small flat-head screwdriver. Clean the little Allen head holes out. Reach back behind the motor with a 8-in extension and Allen 1/4-in ,, and ratchet. Unplugged the sensor. It is done. It is a tight fit. But you don't have to undo the dipstick for the tranny. Or any other stuff.

Tuff to get at but it can be removed from the top with a socket, a short extension and a couple u-joints.... not ez but easier than removing all the other parts. Just my experience....

I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 ive chaged all the sensors it runs fine in the cold but when the truck warms up it sputtering and misfire and no power when driving and i changed the distributor cap and the cam and pull up sensor u think my crankshaft sensor is bad
