Crankshaft Position Sensor replacement for a 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9l Cummins Diesel

Basically I looked all over for a video on how to do this for my dads truck and couldn't find one. After looking over the engine bay for awhile I found what I needed and decided to make a video during the process to maybe help someone else out with a similar truck. Sorry for dragging on about how the sensor works and including extras of my pup Apollo but hopefully this helps some of you guys out. Clean it first!!!

You did a good job of figuring it out. It has a PCM Power Control Module when the sensor doesn't work the PCM doesn't know the engine is running, the tach alternator and automatic transmission are controlled by the PCM so they don't function properly if at all. It should not effect the engine idling it is a 12v all mechanical. If it were a stick shift you could drive it with no problem other than your battery's not being properly charged. I just fixed the Kdp issue on my 12v, i had to remove the sensor and when i put it all back together i didn’t put the sensor back how it was, i had it to far away, ya it started but no charge system worked. Was quite baffled. Was shitty adjusting when everything was back together. Basically remove the fan and shroud.

It wasn't telling the computer it was on so there was no RPM's, wasn't charging and it wouldn't shift out of second gear.
