I ran into a few problems that may be bugs in trying to find all the endings: First, the game gives controls to move the camera up or down but I never could get this to work (the left/right options are necessary to progress inside the elevator but I'm not sure if I could in fact look up or down inside). Second, randomly after getting the Hired ending I restarted and had the elevator door replaced with a fire exit door. Using it just resulted in a black screen and the sounds of footsteps running down stairs. Nothing further happened, even after leaving it running for 10 minutes. I'm not sure what triggered this outcome or even if it's supposed to cause an ending but I found this curious. It's also possible I missed a dialogue option but I did pick most of them.
@rc527142 жыл бұрын
Something about the second problem is making me feel like that was put there intentionally for lore purposes. Either that or it was something that the creator wanted to put in the game but ultimately decided to scrap but some aspects of it somehow made it in the flies if you get what I'm trying to say.
@gumbling46502 жыл бұрын
Idk why but youtube ate my original comment when i tried editing it. Anyways, in the comments on the korean ver download page, the dev confirms that the fire exit thing is end 14. It’s completely intentional and has lore stuff, like @R :D said. (that’s why i got it after getting most of the ends then going back to get no smoking)

Actually they don't really get along that well, from what i've seen/heard/found, the two have had a pretty rough time in there. After a few days in the elevator, they're locked on floor eight. Six days in, Doppeltag finds scissors, much to doppel-coworker's dismay. On day 34, he tries to make light conversation, and doppeltag punches him to shut him up, which triggers him to slowly lose his original personality and grow more and more passive and submissive to doppeltag.

Ultimately to disappear completely (id assume by jumping from a height given where and how he disappears). I believe this adds so much more to the game. Showing that even the most “successful” and “happy” people in a company can still feel horribly depressed and unfulfilled. I could write a whole essay on this game god damn.

Honestly, it’s probs because Protag needs it regardless of whether it makes sense or not. Being told ‘I love you’ by a disembodied voice is kinda comforting 😅
@KayR-l6u9 ай бұрын
I have a theory about that. Maybe messages wasn't for Protag at all. It doesn't make any sense for Head of safety team to give him any hints: it's Protag's first day. He's nobody for a local staff. But there IS someone who is already working here and has to made some connections - our future Coworker. Safety head (Manual?) is angry at newbie for calling for help. Protocol most likely says that they should eliminate workers who failed tasks. (Coworker's task to interview Protag with special elevator. And he "fails" it when allow newbie call for help). It seems he doesn't even know whats happening in the elevator. Only thing that he knows for sure that he has to kill someone he clearly likes. That's why he capitalize YOU in his answer. Which is supposed to be angry and sarcastic but he can't show it because he's at shift. And trying to send a secret message with Morse code hoping that Coworker will get it and Leave to the next floor. By the way Coworker seems to be unfazed of perspective to be killed by safety maintenance. (I believe that he's clearly knows what's going on and what procedures are). He didn't interrupt Protagonist when he was calling for help neither asked him cancel call when he had a chance. It's likely he purposely give Protag full freedom in actions in order to say "No help will come. Solve problems yourself". He doesn't scare to get hurt and die in order to make his job properly. Highly professional and clearly screwed if you think about it.

From what I can tell, there are only really two ways the game, truly ends, both of which just seem, miserable, though I do think there is hope for the ladder. 1. Protag has lost it, and can no longer handle themselves with trying to work in life, and looses it. Is this a bit dramatic? Yes. Is it also a metaphor for how people can loose it? Also he’s. 2. The “true” ending. This one is, self explanatory, though I do think there is hope for Protag as the ending is called “escape” in the end.

OKAY! I think I got it! So! Basically, I think it’s purgatory? I personally believe that they both (the protag and Bryce) ended up taking their own lives. Which is why you rarely see “normal” people. The coworker steps off the elevator IN THE SKY. And it doesn’t say he disappeared, it says HE IS GONE and YOU CANT SEE HIM ANYMORE. I think then the protag went insane and also did the same thing, because of the fire exit thing when you log back in. He runs out, or back up because his coworker, a guy that seemingly was carefree and just devious, was actually really depressed from their job and then offs himself. It’s sad, because it shows how some corporations can be so exploiting.

if this game is referencing toxic work culture i’d guess this ending is when you ‘lose it’s due to the stress and people thinking you’re crazy even though its not your fault
@soapical4 ай бұрын
i’d also think that the coworker can either represent 2 things: society or college degrees 1. society meaning that when you lose it from the stress you could become an outcast by not fitting in (basically killing the part of you that is apart of like normal society) and everyone looking down on you for it (this is a real stretch and i really doubt its this) 2. the insinuation of needing degrees in order to get a job, and when you don’t you’re treated as stupid (during the interview on the 9th floor the guy kept on insinuating that the coworker was useless and dragging you down) actually this is a real stretch the more i think about it i think i’m just yapping

@kiara309928 күн бұрын
The whole kidney thing is just to make it more creepy. Or it can be a metaphor of self sacrifice for one's work. Since all of this game is inspired by the toxic Working Culture, I think one of the CEO's needed a kidney (a left one to be especific) so they're hiring someone with one to giving away. Also, donating a kidney isn't something that would kill you, but would you do it? For a beloved one, yeah, maybe. But for the company you work at? Even after this hell? Really? Well, work adicted people might.

@Durian4411 ай бұрын
I mean, the game is about toxic corporation culture. You have the protag who needs this job, but he doesn't actually want it for more than a paycheck. It isn't fulfilling, and ends up being horrifying. Yet, he still needs the job and gets berated for not wanting to give up his life for work (which is somewhat how it is in real life; most people are forced to give away at least 8 hours of almost each day just to live) because he did all the hard work to get here (exhausting) and that there's many unfortunate people who can't get into his position who also need and want it (to live, not because it's a good position at all). I guess in the very end, when he thinks he's escaped, he's probably going to work (likely getting caught up in the horrible elevator situation again, either actually being exploited for his left kidney since it was referenced so much or something to do with nuclear fuel rods) and thus ends up not having escaped at all. He thought he was free since he passed and got the job, but it will continue being at least just as horrifying and now he's caught up in it, unable to ever leave, which is likely an allegory for how people need to spend years of their lives working in order to survive, never truly getting to be free.

Why did they get shot on the 10th ending?
@campcampcamp5 ай бұрын
A literal answer is that, from what I read and agree with, it's highly likely that Coworker might have touched the wall, or they simply targeted him first, maybe something to do with his employee status? Of course, Protag looked at him, even though earlier, Manuel said "Do not look at the injured", so it's possible he only got his head blown off cause he looked at Coworker's injured body.
