Thanks Pete! I went out yesterday with my oldest and we caught 21 fish in a little over 2 hours. They are starting to heat up!!! Spawn here is probably on in 2-3 weeks!!!

Thanks Don! I do love my old boat. I've worked on it so much since I got it and know the motor in and out now so I imagine it'll be with me forever. I did just get a new fishing pontoon boat for taking more family out with me that couldn't get in the smaller boat, but when it's just me I think I'll still be cranking up the old 2-stroke!

Excellent video & commentary -- thanks for describing what you are doing to position the jig. I made it out last week and this week and have using the pitch! I'm not as good as you are cuz you make it look easy :) The pitching this week was much better than last week, and I've caught fish both weeks. This pitch with a smaller jig is much more effective this time of year (end of Jan) than vertical jigging -- yeah, I'm still catching up on your vids!

Thanks so much! Haha, yeah it is fun going back watching my videos now to see how much I've improved myself and keep improving every trip out. One day maybe I'll actually top 50% accuracy on where I actually want my jig to go on a cast/pitch!!

Definitely Danny, went out with my daughter yesterday and she caught 20 fish in less than 3 hours (she did let me catch 1 hahaha). Family time on the water is always fun!

You are going to have a blast! I actually was about to get a Hobie outback right before one of my in-laws moved out of state and sold me the boat/trailer/motor I'm using now for less than the hobie was going to cost. I still wish I had a fishing kayak some days though - so quiet and you can sneak up on the fish much easier!

Haha, Bluedogs, the name of the channel is "High Quality Fishing Videos" - not High Quality Fisherman, LOL!🤣 Really though the reason I wind up doing that a lot is because I can very slowly control the position of the jig better raising my rod vs. reeling. It lets me keep the jig in the strike zone longer and slower.

So, I finally got a reel spooled with Kastking Fluorokote (8lb) and got out on the water with it today. It is significantly easier to "pitch" than the braid I've been using both in controlling the direction and better distance. I got on some active timber and caught five fish with five casts by swimming my jig through the fish. Thanks again for your vids and tips!! My only beef with the Fluorokote is that it does not come in Hi-Vis Yellow -- I do like being able to easily pick up my line. Have you tried KastKing TriPolymer Crappie -- it's supposed to be the best of both fluro & mono? I'm just curious, I think I'm going to give it shot.

That is awesome, so glad it worked well. I haven't tried that tripolymer stuff yet, but will pick some up to give it a shot. Would be nice to have this stuff in high-vis color for sure!

Hey, thanks for watching! In this video I was just using jigs. I just about only use jigs now for crappie since I found those little berkley minnow jigs that look very very similar to a real shiner.
