Place Bets
Place bets allow players to bet on specific numbers (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10) to be rolled before a 7 appears. Players can make place bets at any time during the game, but they are most commonly made after the point is established. The payouts vary depending on the number chosen: 7:6 for 6 and 8, 7:5 for 5 and 9, and 9:5 for 4 and 10. Place bets can be increased, decreased, or removed entirely by the player at any time, offering flexibility and strategic opportunities.
Taking Odds
Taking odds is an additional bet made in conjunction with a Pass Line or Come bet. Once the point is established, players can place an odds bet behind their initial bet, which pays true odds with no house edge. The true odds are 2:1 for points 4 and 10, 3:2 for points 5 and 9, and 6:5 for points 6 and 8. This bet significantly enhances potential winnings without increasing the house edge, making it a favored strategy among seasoned craps players.
