Strong BUY. Still early innings. NVIDIA is the dominant leader in AI and the preferred technology partner globally. Even w new competition on the horizon, NVIDIA is far ahead of the competition. 85% market share. 76% margin. Unrivaled demand for new Blackwell chip. Demand far exceeds production for Blackwell through to 2025 and beyond. No competitor has anything close to Blackwell. And forward P/E is about 33 (cheap for a high growth stock). I feel that many people missed some minor details about BW products delay during the call.The delay was not because of some design flaws as originally reported. It was rather to improve the yields of the first few silicon samples due to its complexity and this is quite normal.
@ttb15132 ай бұрын
Sorry, but I have seen chips that had metal mask changes in order to make quite small logic changes to a chip that fix rare, corner case bugs in the logic of the chip, a design flaw. I have never seen a metal mask change that was done to keep the logic or function of a chip the unchanged (not fixing a design flaw), but instead making the design higher yielding. Especially if there are just "the first few samples" of a chip available, yield issues at that stage are more unlikely to be identifiable; yield issues take more volume to identify. The first samples do allow real world, at speed functionality to be tested with abundant test cases that were not all possible to encounter even with the fastest emulation machines used for chip logic verification.
@kevn232 ай бұрын
@@ttb1513As a designer of such chip for 20 years, I can tell you that a lot of things can affect yield depending on what they characterize as a failure. So it's possible they need a mask change to make something more robust or timing better in the corner cases. We don't know if it's a metal layer mask change either.
@ttb15132 ай бұрын
@@kevn23 Ok, what are examples of changes to a design to fix yield issues that are NOT to fix logic design flaws that can be determined from the "first few" chips? I certainly don’t know that a mask change was needed, but if a design change is needed, the most expedient I have seen is strategically wiring in some spare logic gates to effect a logic fix by merely making some metal mask changes ("re-routing wires"), versus having to totally respin a chip or even just create new, more expensive and time consuming, non-metal masks. What are any examples of the "lot of things" that can affect yield, that involve mask changes, but don’t involve changes to the gate level logic of a design? It is hard to have gate level timing changes that can be identified as necessary from a small number of initial samples.

To what degree do you believe that China will make a move on Taiwan? I would project large and soon.

China tends to take things very slowly (ie decades). In this case, I'd say they'd be wise to act quickly.

We Are in Unchartered Financial Waters! every day we encounter challenges that have become the new standard. Although we previously perceived it as a crisis, we now acknowledge it as the new normal and must adapt accordingly. Given the current economic difficulties that the country is experiencing in 2024, how can we enhance our earnings during this period of adjustment? I cannot let my $680,000 savings vanish after putting in so much effort to accumulate them.

Keeping some gold is usually a wise decision. You would be better off keeping away from equities for a bit or, even better, seeking advice from an expert given the current market conditions and everything that is at risk with the current economy.

You have a very valid point, I started investing on my own and for a long time, the market was really ripping me off. I decided to hire a CFA, even though I was skeptical at first, and I beat the market by more than 9%. I thought it was a fluke until it happened two years in a row, and so I’ve been sticking to investing via an analyst

@@yuri.moiseyev They are worried they will lose investors because they know they can't deliver the growth wall street expects, so by buying back shares they hope to push the share price back up. Also their CEO has been selling off a lot of his personal shares up until yesterday.

There is no reason for shares of NVDA to go up with flaws in the new chip with months of delays until the 4th quarter. The dividend of a penny is a joke which the CEO waited until Aug.05 to report flaws in the new chip where he could sell all the shares and even sold even under $100.00. Shares will go down back to $90.00 to $70.00 again which a high PE and paying $120.00 is like paying $1200.00 when you consider the spilt. NVDA has bigger problems , but they avoid talking about them which the CEO does lie and has pump shares where he could sell at a profit at your loss.

I've been an investor in Nvidia for the past six years now because I strongly believe in the company and in the stock, but now I've been thinking of redistributing my portfolio of about $560k and buy other stocks. and asset classes. Maybe buy Tesla? They are also doing great things in the AI space. Some digital currencies too. What do you think?
@DorothyWalker-l2y2 ай бұрын
Not offering any particular advice, but I can assure you that both stocks still have growth potential. Re-distributing is not as hard as many people think it is. Ordinary investors lack the requisite level of diligence, so having a financial advisor on board is usually highly beneficial. In the market, this is how people generate enormous profits.
@geraldhoward63512 ай бұрын
I agree. A financial advisor really does help me do the distribution even between different asset classes. I don't even understand technical financial terms much. I just know I make really good profit, and I don't have to stress myself a lot.

That's really great. I've tried doing some research myself to hire a financial advisor, but it's really overwhelming. Could you recommend who you work with please?

"Jessica Lee Horst" is the licensed advisor I use. Just research the name. You can find necessary details to work with to set up an appointment.
