Matt Lothe Well, this is why Lex Lang came into the picture, and Clancy Brown left out: Clancy Brown had nothing to work with, because of how Cortex was portrayed as a Starscream wannabe, but when Lex Lang came, he gave more color and personality to Dr. Cortex, making him more human and fun. And while Crash of the Titans recycled the "Cortex is a Starscream wannabe" cliche, Mind Over Mutant went full force on his character, by having Uka Uka captured, steal his mojo, and feeding him cake as a means of torture.

Well, first, we would hear him speak for the first time, and second, we would see him in and out of his "crazy" state, from top hat and glasses, to messy hair ,drooling tongue and swirling eyes, then back again. Ripper Roo DEFINITELY should have been in Crash Bandicoot 3.

And then if Ripper Roo was a sixth boss in CB3, then I would like an extended version of the original/classic CB3, with the same exact graphics, character designs and voices from the year 1998, but with 20 warp rooms and 100 levels (5 levels and 1 boss per warp room), and 20 bosses with Ripper Roo, Tiny Tiger, Dingodile, N. Tropy, N. Gin and Cortex. And some of those 100 levels contain some new environments, that were in CB1 and CB2 but not in CB3, and some brand new ones. Plus some other colored gems (with other colors than red, green, blue, yellow and purple). And since games with PS1 graphics aren’t made anymore, we could either persuade them to make the extended CB3 that I’m talking about, or even make a fanmade one by ourselves. What do you think about this idea? 🙂

Hi all. 1. In my opinion, Clancy Brown is the best voice for Cortex. 2. Since people are talking about Mr. Krabs from Spongebob here, and that Uka Uka and Cortex sound like Mr. Krabs sometimes in these time twister messages, I thought I’d ask this here: What if the Crash Bandicoot characters from the Naughty Dog era (both the good guys and the bad guys) got the ability to breathe underwater, made a crossover apperance in the Spongebob show and visited Bikini Bottom to visit the Spongebob characters? What would each and one of the Crash characters think about the relationship between Spongebob and Squidward? Would they want to help Squidward get rid of his annoying neighbours, or would they be like Spongebob? What would each and one of the Crash characters think about the rivalry between Mr. Krabs and Plankton? Maybe some of characters would think Plankton is just a poor bully victim and you should be nice to him so he will be happy and a nice guy, maybe some characters want to rule the world without having to share the power with Plankton.

It's interesting how this was achieved in 1998 (if I recall the games were 96 1, 97 2, 98 this, CTR 99 and Bash 2000) and how far PS1 technology got, despite not having the power of the N64 and the Dreamcast (was out in Japan with SA1 a bit after this was made), yet did way more with their animations, no voiced N64 game nor DC had this sync and movement levels I think in their entire life spans. Hell, FFX on PS2 got delayed because Square wanted to match lip movement with ENG voicework three years later!

The audio mixing in the N-Sane Trilogy really worked well for Uka Uka, as a matter of fact, it makes Clancy's Uka Uka seem underwhelming in comparison. Really just shows the power of good audio editing. Though, what's interesting is that the Japanese version of Crash 3 actually had similar effects applied to Uka Uka's voice as they did in the N-Sane Trilogy.

+Sam Coleman how is he able to voice uka uka so amazing?! I think he's better than John Dimaggio. He isn't a bad actor. Far from it. He's an amazing voice actor. But his voice for uka uka in mind over mutants and crash of the titans sound so horrible. It sounded like a chipmunk being strangled.

@@elijahhoward6322 in the 90s he was doing the Timmverse/DCAU as Lex Luthor, he had worked with a wide range of actors doing hammy, subtle, over the top, grounded and many other performances. They likely told him to go full on ham with Uka (and may have had a filter as well) and he took a hint from Mark Hamill (Joker) and other DCAU villains.
