All three of these boys are artists/game devs and they love Crash 2 so obviously they're going to critique a remake of a game that isn't up to par. "I didn't notice what they're complaining about so they should stop talking about it and make more funni voices" isn't an argument.

Hmm... I wouldn't say it's that it's an awful adaptation. I'd say it's actually _too_ faithful. People act like the old models were the holy grail of expressive animation, but when you do a 1:1 upgrade and shuffle the lighting a little bit, the flaws with the old models really come to life. I'm not going to say the same thing about gameplay, because I never actually got to _play_ these games as a boy. Chris would not have had me.

Evan Wheat I disagree on them being extremely faithful. The aesthetic of the remake and the way everything looks in general just drives me up the wall with how unappealing it is.

In the new style there are some cases where there's _too_ much detail (the ostrich's and penguin's human-like eyes, Cortex's uncomfortably big, meaty lips, etc.) and it feels like a strange mismatched departure from the old cartoon-ish look . The biggest thing that feels off is that the "squash and stretch" movement style is less of a priority and the characters are designed like they're from Dreamworks or Pixar.

It's the aesthetic change that people are not fond of. Instead of going for a regular sharp cartoon look like the original, this went for a modern CG cartoon direction. While not bad, I don't think it's too much of a stretch to understand why people prefer the original.

To be fair, it makes more sense that it'd look like brown water, since if you actually tried to move through thick mud, you probably wouldn't be able to move to due it clinging to your body, whereas if it's just muddy water with thick mud on the bottom, then it's just clinging to your feet.

It's not supposed to be funny. For me, it's interesting seeing what they dislike about the game (even if some of Chris' complaints are bordering on stupid at times). I wouldn't say it's whinging as much as it's them talking about what they don't like about the game, especially since it touches upon something they hold close and dear to their hearts. Not every let's play on this channel are going to be "funny" all the way through. Some are bound to be more serious and discussion oriented, and that's fine. If you want more funny let's plays, I'm fairly certain the Crash 1 and 3 videos will fit that criteria since Crash 1 and 3 aren't as important to the boys.

They have taken out the NSS(neutral slide spin) which is the move ding dong was talking about that gave you the most speed. But they have kept in the glitched high jump but crouching or sliding holding X and Square you get a higher jump boost.

The game itself seems ok but the aesthetic is gaudy as hell. The game isn't ugly but it's not the prettiest sight. The lighting is just not good. More often than not its too damn bright! Especially when looking at the Coco water levels, I didn't feel like I was looking at a game with finished visuals. If the lighting were to be reworked, I think this game would actually look good or even great instead of okay. Other than the lighting, I think the game looks good. And yeah, I love my oney boys as much as anyone but the nitpicking jokes are getting kind of old? No game is perfect. To be fair, though, I don't know for sure if the devs tried their hardest on this game or if the game itself is bad from firsthand experience. Did I mention the lighting sucks?

As far as I see their editing, they focus on sound and camera shaking. The sound of impact is bland and slow, the camera in the old games shook very visibly on impact too. The visuals are different than the composition and sound
