Brio was the one who made Tiny, not Cortex. Him, Ripper Roo, and the Komodo Bros. were all made by Brio (or at least sent by him) to stop Crash and sabotage Cortex’s plans with the Crystals. Tiny was the last one sent out, as Brio likely assumed that he’d easily be able to stop Crash. Unfortunately, he forgot that brain beats brawn, and thus Tiny was defeated.

Why is tiny attacking crash? Isn't this taking place in the space station? Cortex would send tiny to get the crystals from crash but tiny is attacking him instead.

The platform that dropped at 1:10 was still coming up when Tiny jumped over the middle one, so when the game calls for the other platforms to drop, that one doesn’t get the memo.
