Let's be honest. The most important thing improvement here is that you actually see the pitchforks disappear after he grabs them, in the original he pulled one away and it was still there lol, it's the minor touches that make it better :)

It's kinda disappointing that this is the only boss themed after a time period. There was so much potential for outfits with the other bosses. At least Cortex dressed up, though. He looks quite nice.

Don't know how i feel about the lions. In the original their mouths were moving with the sound so it seemed like they were really trying to make crash into a snack. This version it looks like tamed lions about to hop on their trainer in joy

In the original Aku Aku speaks more slowly and sounds like a proud father in that scene in the end. It actually gave weight to the victory, now it sounds campy and overdone
