I did this myself a few weeks ago. The game had been sitting uncompleted for almost the entire year all because of Stormy Ascent, and when I finally came back to it, it took me 2.5 days of non-stop attempts to beat it. I actually cried in relief when I managed it, and my thumbs were killing me.

There’s a reason Stormy Ascent had so many checkpoints for you: normally it has exactly 3, with a 4th on the bonus platform (which only the trilogy has). But if the player dies a lot at the same checkpoint, the game has “pity checkpoints”, which turn what are normally ? Crates into new Checkpoint crates, or in some cases, even metal crates become checkpoints. As for why the level was DLC: it was cut from the 1996 original because it was considered too hard, but was still in the game code and was found via cheat devices. When the N Sane Trilogy released, people expected it to finally be released in public. It showed. The N Brio bonus however was completely new and not in the original.

If there's one thing that kept me happy during quarantine, it was platinuming the N Sane Trilogy. Going from not playing great in 2018 to obtaining the trophies even Stormy Ascent has to be one of my favourite memories with Crash. Screw Crash 4's platinum tho 😂

The 1 box you missed in jaws of darkness is because if you jump on a TNT crate and it’s still counting down when you break a checkpoint, if you die and respawn at the checkpoint the TNT will not be broken. (Personal experience lol) Congrats on stormy ascent relic man, you’re a stronger man than I. And I love completing the crash games. I have 106%’d crash 4 multiple times which was insanely difficult and takes a lot of practise. But I couldn’t bring myself to keep trying stormy ascent TT. I did get the crash 4 game before I got NST though so I have played it a lot more. Good luck when you go for that game 👊🏼

No bro, it isn’t worth it. Crash is my favourite series and even I refuse to even try. You basically have to get every crates and not die in every level, which wouldn’t be an issue if there weren’t levels with 400+ crates and so long their platinum relics times are like 3:30.

Getting the trophy for the gold relic on stormy accent is legit one of the hardest trophies I’ve ever done. Gave up on it multiple times and finally got it done 5 years after I got the platinum for the main game 😂 I think I’d rather beat malenia from Elden ring again than attempt stormy accent again and she took me a long ass time

The only tip I can give for the crash series is have fun, try not to get mad (especially crash 4) just try your best and for the latest crash definitely think out of the box (and the lost city sucks but eh)

The Crash Bandicoot games are, in my opinion, not as difficult as people like to make them out to be (It's About Time being the exception, of course). "Dark Souls of platformers" my ass. I've gotten all the time trial relics in the trilogy twice (the second time I did them I got platinum relics), and I honestly found Crash 2 to be harder than Crash 1, or at least, more frustrating. Yes, Crash 1 may have Stormy Ascent, but I think one level shouldn't define the other 26. Still, the longer levels such as Sunset Vista are not fun to do without dying, and The High Road and Fumbling in the Dark are just awful. Crash 2 has an expanded moveset compared to Crash 1, and some of the relic times are stricter because you get speed shoes after defeating Dr. Neo Cortex, and you're expected to use them. The first time I did Crash 2's relics, I struggled to even get GOLD on some levels. Most of Crash 2's levels aren't as long as some of Crash 1's though, but Crash 2 still has its fair share of difficult levels, such as Hangin' Out, Cold Hard Crash, and Piston It Away. Thank god you only need gold relics for the platinum trophy in N. Sane Trilogy. For It's About Time you need _platinum_ relics. 10:19 That happened to me on my second playthrough. I just simply forgot about that box...

For some reason I decided to do it and I can tell you that it is so much harder than gold. I mean the difficulty from gold to platinum goes from 10 to 100 for some reason... I really don't understand that 6/10 difficulty on the DLC. I know it's only one level but it's the hardest. It's like an 8/10(honestly maybe even like 8.5/10)imo. Not sure what was the reasoning behind that rating but it's harder than the base game for sure.

@@CompletionistTrav Stormy Ascent is not accessible through normal means in the original game, but it can be played by using a GameShark code. Naughty Dog removed this level due to its extreme difficulty as it is essentially a harder version of its counterpart Slippery Climb (which is already considered one of the hardest levels in the game), and also due to the numerous bugs that Naughty Dog could not fix before the final game was shipped
