I was almost in tears tonight because I start a fully remote job next week - due to my dad with dementia moving in with me- and am feeling very very overwhelmed and like I have no idea what to do. After watching this, I will definitely be joining the membership and am feeling so much better!!! Thank you so so much!!!

As always you have helped me SO MUCH!!! As a new Communications Assistant in a school based practice being on line adds a whole lot of other challenges. As in the classroom, your video's, website and Pinterest boards have been a God send. Gratitude being sent your way from Northern Ontario Canada, where we have been locked down for a minimum of the next couple of weeks.

OMGOSH, this is so helpful! I’m finishing my pre-reqs for the master’s program and I start the clinical program in August in Portland State. This is such a wonderful resource and I definitely plan on subscribing to you resources when the time comes for me to see my first clients! I’m afraid we might be learning tele practice first!

This video is really cool! I have a helpful tip (for something you won't get access to, as people are secretive) At 6:45 you mention having the parent help the child. This seems to go against what you're trying to accomplish in a small way. If the child is, at all, uncomfortable around their parent (maybe the one helping is the one who was upset enough to get a speech therapist), they will have anxiety about answering whether they know how to or not. Further, the parent may be helping more than you will know. Here's how to solve that very easily and without offending the parent: Make a small graphic of two medium sized dots, one Red, the other Blue. You can drag this picture below the item-pictures you're helping the child with. Then, just ask them which color is the correct word. Next, they say the ITEM is COLOR. Affirming it out loud will help them feel more confident in decisiveness, and their speech.

This video is so helpful. Thank you for sharing those resources. May I ask, what platform did you use to create the recording? I appreciated how you were able to zoom yourself in and out.

I like the idea of being able to do interactive therapy targets and incentives and let the kid use their mouse and interact. That is what I do in face to face therapy and it definitely keeps them engaged and wanting to do therapy targets. I know it's possible with zoom, but maybe not the medical one that you pay for. Do you know?

If I remember correctly, you can coannotate with Zoom so that you can see students circling and underlining things. Can that be done with Google Meet or other platforms?

MissHannah , I heard through another training (the SLP Toolbox’s courses offered Mar. 23) that all platforms have annotation features.

Do you offer SLP teletherapy services for hire? Or recommend a service that offers SLP services for an 8 year old? My son has found your videos very helpful and so far we have not had any SLP help from the school since moving to digital learning platform at the end of February.

I'm so sorry to hear that you don't like my voice. It is something that I have been working on but I understand that I'm not perfect. Please understand though that despite not being perfect, I am trying to do the best I can to provide helpful information to those who need help. And I am human with my own insecurities and it does hurt when people say mean things about me online. I understand that you are probably just trying to help me improve myself and to help others not have to suffer through what seems a bad video. But please keep in mind the other person's perspective when providing constructive criticism online. That's all I ask. Thank you.
