How they restored the car is exactly the way in which heritage collections restore aircraft, you work with what's usable, discard what isn't and fill in the rest. Stunning job, incredible piece of history

That's fascinating to hear how they restore other pieces, I guess it makes sense.

This is what i would call a mesh of unbelievable passion, craftsmanship, and understanding of memorialization. People are so quick to point out it’s not the same car and it’s useless to call it a rebirth. But a passion project like this is seldom seen through a lens than can quantify the soul of the project. Thanks for the video Neil I really enjoy this format it’s so cool seeing the cars past life and progress.

is it weird... that i sorta teared up looking at this thing, knowing where its been, what its done, how its came back. it just makes me so happy to see it looking so original-ish looking. bringing something back from how bad it was and making it usable again makes me just so happy. i remember watching clips of this thing back in the day and being like "damn, that car is something mean, i wish the US had more smaller powered cars like this"

There's this philosophical idea of Theseus' ship. A guy has a wooden ship, and every time a plank snaps or gets too old he has it replaced. After years on the seas, not one original board remains. Is it still his ship? One possible answer is Yes, it is the same thing as long as no one else has got a significant amount of the original parts in one place. So by this definition, it is Yuasa's 86. But any way you skin the cat, I love this car, this is one of the first cars I vividly remember from when I started looking up old D1 clips and VHS rips. A lot of cool cars, but this had such a unique colour and churned through so much fibreglass, it really left an impression. Glad to see someone took that twisted hunk of scrap and made something out of it
