I crashed my RC plane that is *capable of going 200mph, though I haven't flown it that fast yet, a few months ago...of course this crash was off camera (go figure) and really tore up the landing gear. This is the E-flite V1200, the fastest aircraft in my collection. After some hot glue repair job, it is almost back to normal and ready to be flown again!

You are correct Nate. Properly placed and used foam tac will anchor the gear mechanism in for good. The only weak spot left if you use the foam tac correctly is the foam wing itself. Love the channel.

Hey that is one fast plane. With 6s thoughit does in excess of 140mph out of the box I believe. One of our club members has a V90o which does in excess of 125 mph.

It'll be a looong time before I work up to this 😁 General trim question: After you dial in your trim with SAFE off, do you make mechanical adjustments after landing, so that the plane is trimmed with transmitter trims to neutral? I have the Hobbyzone Carbon Cub S2, and the trim instructions are confusing to me. Thanks for your great content!

That plane(The Futura V3) looks gorgeous, although, it is the same thing as the Freewing Avanti S 80mm... I own an Avanti S, and I love her!... I was going to order one of those Futura V3 and didn't do it because at the time, there were no spare parts available for it! That's a Huge NO NO in our hobby. Never buy a plane if they don't sell spare parts for it!...😊 The Avanti S is the way to go!... That is a sweet Looking plane and the sound TELLS you it's Fast. I would 2nd the Epoxy for critical repairs, with chopped or fiberglass millings (looks like powder)if you have not dealt with it. Epoxy needs some structure like glass to really have full potential.(wear a mask when sanding fiberglass)should that need arise. another option, that has served me well JB Weld or PC-7 they may have some additives already, don't quote me on that, but they are TOUGH right out of the packages.

First of love the plane but it’s not 200mph I was hoping for and I use hotglue instead of just foam glue it is a rubbery material when cool and can flex and expand as it needs to so you don’t rip off your landing gear I used it on the hobbyzone rv7 it works great

I sort of ease into it. Pretty sure I’m holding some right rudder till the tail gets up and moving, then kick the throttle on a bit harder and go go go! Once it’s in the air, you’re golden! It’s just getting it there and back again 😉😅😎⚓️

Try slower advance of throttle. Friend was a WW2 fighter pilot in P47's and P51's. He described shoving right rudder to the floor and steering with throttle. More power goes left and less goes right until enough airspeed made control surfaces more effective. I'm too slow so I just advance throttle slower.

I love watching your vids. i wanted to let you know that i clocked my v-1200 at 145 mph with the stock prop. Check out my vid on my youtube channel "Mi.Rclife" Make sure you leave me a comment so I know you came and checked it out. Also i've had similar issues with my landing gear. The whole retract pod came out of the wing. I also run a much larger lipo than the 3200 your running, i use a 5500 zeeepower in my v-1200

SAFE is useful if you get disoriented, or blinded by flying through the sun, or if a bug gets in your eye. I highly recommend it. It’s just an added layer of protection.

There is an asterisk there for a reason. Although I didn’t fly it 200mph, it is capable of flying that fast. Is it possible that you read the title of the video wrong? It doesn’t say “I was flying an airplane 200 mph when it crashed” but rather says what it does. Sorry that you were hoping to see me fail on camera but instead I had fun and a successful flight. ⚓️
