Cept Lunatic really shows just how BS the levels listed and a few other are as at least I can blame screwing up in Hard mode on myself and not the game BS me alot less often (Hence why I never go beyond Hard Mode in any FE I've played minus Radiant Dawn since the NA version I played Normal mode was automatically the games Hard Mode, that kind of surprised me first time I played as I realized Hard mode was Lunatic for the first time in the series)

Chapter 10 is a masterpiece. Perfect map design, you get PERFECT UNIT for the chapter and the chapter, it's rewarding to beat it, you can get cool items with the hoyse ect.

I didn't really mind it, I happened to find it a rather easy way to grind. Most of my units had things that allowed them to attack from two spaces away and I just dashed between dragon veins with my royals. It wasn't to tedious for me to complete and only took one attempt. Now, chapter 10 on the other hand took like five attempts (Very tedious by the end). Definitely my most hated.

Maybe the reason why you have to play chapter 27 again just to beat the endgame is so that you really do lose units? Much like on some anime, casualties among allies are inevitable during the final battle... They want us to feel the emotions of losing an ally or unit... Though those emotions for me are anger and frustration!

How chapter 27 works: The Entrap maidens will teleport the units that are highest leveled (promoted units get +20 to level for this calculation) in order of: Ninja room, berserker room, and then either sniper or sorceror, I forgot. So it's mostly a matter of level. I think the chapter was made intentionally easy because of how Endgame works. It's an interesting concept at least.

Chapter 10 is the best chapter.... The map design is perfect, sure it's challenging and hard but it's FAIR. It give you perfect and usable unit for this chapter, you can have a pot of bonus via the house if you want to take risk and it's a purely strategie based map

The Chapter that has given me the most grief so far was the Kitsune Hamlet. I didn't get a Game Over (and since I play Casual, I didn't lose anything substantial) but I still got wrecked harder than Vegeta after his fight with Android 18. The enemy Kitsune are pretty freaking powerful and are quite numerous; combine that with my lack of anti-beast weaponry, and you get all human units not named Effie getting more gang banged than the cast of Rouge One (even Effie's legs buckled near the end). Thank Naga for Keaton.

For Chapter 27, can't you just switch and pair-up units so they don't get trapped in the room? Besides, the purpose of the rooms is not for you to escape, but for you to easily pick off the enemies within them, provided you have a weapon advantage, since it will unlock a shortcut. Also, EASY?!? Those damn Counters and Magic Counters are so annoying that the strongest units can simply die from attacking.

Chapter 24's fun-to-fuck-this ration depends on how many flyers you have. Mono-flying was fun; 12-15 movement flyers vs 12 movement flyers gets silly real fast. Yes, Air Superiority is annoying as fuck, but I can imagine Hoshido thinks the same about almost everyone having Savage Blow+Lunge. Meanwhile, the Endgame is designed to test your sanity and/or was made by an Intelligent Systems intern looking to get a full-time job. "Whoever puts the most bullshit into this map gets to stay!"

I always see people praising chapter 10. Is it really hard? Yes. But is it FAIR? Definitely yes. It isn't challenging because it's inflating enemy stats to ridiculous levels and shoving artificial difficulty in your face, its challenging because it's well-designed and tests your strategy as a good map should do. I dunno, your reason for putting it and some other chapters on here is essentially "IT'S TOO HARD FOR ME". Which is...kind of the point of Conquest. And for some reason the garbage of chapter 19 is not on this list and the tedious as hell chapter 20 is on your favorites, I really don't get it.

Tbh all chapters are good except some in lunatic mode. Those chapter just give a huge advantage to the enemy like chapter 25. on lunatic all enemies are either ninjas with poison strike and savage blow or Master of arms/those creepy dolls with lunge and most have a seal def skill. but what makes this chapter so annoying and unfair is that for the enemy there enemy exclusive-skill give them the advantage of how all there debuffs stack! meaning you can be weakened like 20+ defense (meaning you need to wait 20+ turns to fully recover) Another chapter I hated in lunatic is endgame. it has way more maids with freeze or freeble staffs and Great masters with hexing rods and all have unlimited staff usage (+3 range to there staves) and Stacking debuffs meaning you can literally be debuffed by 8+ on each stats making that unit literally useless. and the worse part is if you lose you gotta do chapter 27 again -_- but aleast Chapter 27 is ridiculously easy but still that doesn't excuse it. I just hate chapters that give the computer a huge advantage in order to make it hard.

There's staff users with Entrap and infinite range, so they'll just warp different units to different rooms, and it's pretty much random.

I know all about lowmanning that chapter, even then, Beruka will get doubled and you're fucked if your knights aren't close to getting Wary Fighter. I'm talking about Lunatic, but the chapter is still annoyingly slow and repetitive in Hard.

Late reply, but yeah that chapter was annoying in lunatic. I struggled about how to get around to starting it, but then I waited a turn and the enemies moved to me. After coming to that realization it wasn't too hard afterwards and like a true conquest player I had a lot of horse units. xD Though Chapters 25 and final were way worse, I really do hate the enemy only accumulate skill.

I enjoyed it , I baited the archers with cam and switched to a spear user to defend while a shuriken user stood ar the back to attack. I spread my healers and used corinn as the spear attack with a partner and sheep spirit for emergency heals. After the archers where gone the spear men and sword men were pretty easy to handle.

I am going to put chapter 10 as my least favorite all because on the very last turn that I needed to survive in in order to win, and with only one enemy in the way, I died to someone with a 51 percent chance of hitting me... I made to end game just with the main chapter and mozu and kana paralogue. and honestly I quitted because just the first round of enemies was enough to kill a bunch of my units. Everywere I saw a gameplay vid they have op units that I can figure out how they made it with just to few chapter

I actually loved Hinoka's chapter, not only is it well structured, but it's also my favorite chapter where the boss is one of the royal siblings. The DV's acting as a double edged sword is well set up, the setting is beautiful, making it easy on the eyes and the conversation between Hinoka and her retainers on their last stand is really heart warming despite how strange they are.

Yes you can, but if you place them outside of the rooms then they'll get entrapped. Someone ought to tell him if that you place a unit in a hallway, they won't get warped.

In the first enemy phase, six random units will get entrapped (forced to teleport to an enemy's location). Each location has a specific type of enemy (i.e. Adventurer, Generals, ect).

Yeah, and the entrap bots have infinite range, so whoever gets entrapped wherever is mostly random.

Jacob Eppler Actually, they Entrap the unit’s with the highest BST or rating. Yeah, you’d need to look that up to know that or be very analytical, but it isn’t luck based like many think. If you ask me, I prefer the infinite range Entrap version of the level. When you know who they target, it makes the level even easier than it already was. You’ll be glad Chapter 27 is easy especially when you’re dying a lot in the endgame.

Fun fact, for stairway to hell, you can just use a few units that are flying units, like Beruka and Camilla. With those you can do a few pairings and just bomb rush for the exit. It isn't easy but it is incredibly fun to win with like 4 units on a CONQUEST level

After beating it in Lunatic, I have to say the skill "Accumulate" will turn chapter 25 into a 1v1 and the final chapter into Rescue chains(had Elise rescue corrin and then had Nina get danced pass enemies to rescue Corrin, and then one round Takumi to avoid enfeeblex3 maids.). Birthright's Final(King Garon's chapter was way harder) was a cake walk on lunatic since I was able to one turn it by Ferrying Ryoma to the boss and then attacking with Corrin, after a ninja with a forged sting shuirken takes care of the General).

I've only ever played Conquest on Easy/Casual, but even after replaying Revelations and Awakening on Hard/Classic, Chapter 10, Chapter 21, and the endgame are still the hardest chapters I have ever played. Though it is entirely possible that I have just gotten much better at Fire Emblem since then.

Where the fuck is 19? Chapter 10 is here, where the only criticism is that it's hard and the dragon vein is annoying? Really? Chapter 19 is ONLY based on RNG. The foxes dodge frequently, and they all do effective damage against horses. And they have the stupid leaf where they can't be attacked but then they can attack you on their phase. AND HALF OF THEM HAS PASS! Pass is fine on a couple units, but half is actual horseshit

The chapter where you fought Iago and Hans was a NIGHTMARE! I remember after resetting at least 50 times, I finally got to Iago and he got a critical hit on Corrin forcing me to restart. I also hated the fact that if you died on the last level, you had to start from the previous level before. I remember when I died and had to reset, I thought I forgot to save until I realized it was part of the game

Enemy placement is eh, I get that, but that's part of the challenge. Conquest is made to test you as a Tactician, if you cant handle it then you need to work on your strategy. While I liked the level design in Conquest more than in the other 2 routes, the inconsistent RNG really ruined all of Fates for me. I probably just had really bad luck, but it happened so often that it made the game feel more tedious. Also, Ninjas are a bitch to fight 😂

Personally, I really like Chapter 10, in fact, I would go as far as saying it to be my favorite chapter in Fates, but there is one thing that I cannot excuse it for... It is a bulls**t difficulty spike! Save chapters like these for later in the game, not just throw it at us at practically the 4th level!

Don't know what you're talking about on The Hollow King. I was GLAD that chapter was so easy, given that you can't save between it and the battle that comes after it, and it was a stupidly frustrating chore to have to play through Hollow King everytime someone died on the final chapter.

Chapter 25 is actually pretty easy for me. Every Lunatic playthrough I have done, I have just had my Avatar Killed the lobster on her own. Swordmaster avatar is the only way to go.

correct me if i am wrong but i have no memory that the second last chapter in conquest spread out your units at random? remember having Felicia and Kaze taking on the magic users, while Effie and Beruka took on their samurais and spearmasters

I actually liked Chapter 21. It really forced me to strategize. I survived by using a ton of Blessed Bows/Lances and Freeze's. It was definitely a change of pace!

You know what I tried to do once, have a random number generator determine which units I would use on a run of Conquest...Oh boy was chapter 10 fun with me having to get Kana before doing since I was so undermanned but what was funny is that I am now stuck on about my 7th attempt of chapter 12.

I almost lost the will to continue on chapter 17, and I was on Phoenix mode. The reason I played the game on Phoenix mode was because I was very unfortunate to have Conquest be the first Fire Emblem game I have ever played. The reason was the fact that Female Corrin was on the box art and I was very stupid.

I gotta know, how did you get Corrin to be strong enough to steamroll ch 15? I mean, I had to rely on all 3 and still just barely got through. Maybe it was because Corrin hardly used Dragon Fang for me, but there's still so many enemies trying to surround you that I don't feel anyone could be safe. Plus doing twice the amount of normal management was rough with damage being carried over between the real and duplicate characters.

What gets me is that he criticizes it for relying on Corrin, and then turns around and says Revelations 7 - which has that same issue, but with fog of war and no unique gimmick, as well as being tedious - is his 2nd favorite Revelations map, and one of his favorites in the game.

I feel like it is kind of unfair for some of these chapters since there are 28 chapters in conquest - 6 because of prologue so 22 chapters in total basically only 2 chapters where not on the best or the worst chapters

Actually FE6 Binding Blade did the same thing that the Conquest Endgame does, forcing you to play the last two levels in succession.

I am suprised Kistune Lair Didnt make it. That chapter was purely letting Kaze,Effie, and Niles kill everything With beast affective weapons and keaton with his beastbane skill. The map design could be put into awakening, Replace the Kitsune with Pledgian soldiers, and it would fit in perfectly. Thats how bland I found Kitsune Lair.

That footage was taken from a playthrough using the fan translation instead of the official one, so it had the Japanese names.

At the time I didn't have a problem with it since I was able to decimate the enemy using general Effie paired up with Benny and using the beast killer. In terms of design yeah the map is so bad but back then because it didn't give me too much trouble it didn't occur to me.

Happy to know I'm not the only one playing Hard Mode Classic, Honestly it's rare to find Lunatic players who don't stick there nose up at you for not going beyond Hard Mode (I like Difficulty, but not at the levels where the game is outright unfair especially hearing the horror stories about Revelations Lunatic being more hard because the programmers were to lazy to change the stats on specific characters meaning you got a Radiant Dawn Dawn Brigade POST Chapter 1 without being prepared situation again)

Your units can't die in the endgame. When you start your game up again, it starts from before the final chapter.

I ended up skipping about half of these entries because I'm still not done with Conquest, but I agree with all the ones I saw. Although, in my case the difficulty came from trying to use the majority of my characters regularly. I didn't just choose one group of characters, I used all of them (not including any of the child characters). And because the exp was divided among so many characters they weren't as powerful as the game probably expected. So my characters kept turning into confetti (thank you casual mode). In the end I just gave up and DLC grind-ed until my characters were strong enough, and I feel no shame in that decision.

Chañter 10 is absolutely brilliant. It’s my favorite among the 5 FE games I’ve played. I had a lot of trouble on normal mode on my first playthrough, but on my second playthrough on hard mode I did a lot of planning, actually strategized pretty much everything, and beat it on my first try, and it was the most fulfilling FE experience I’ve ever had.

There are a fair amount of Fire Emblem games that force you to play the final two chapters in a row. Awakening doesn't, but I know 8 and 7 both do for sure. It's the same way for all iterations of Fates. You do the final two chapters in a row on all routes, without being able to save or return to base.

I simply cannot hate any chapter more than chapter 21. I'll confess, I was underleveled when did it. Still learning the finer points of Fire Emblem. Having said that, the constant waves of enemies, the fact EVERYONE must pass, the dogpiles that can happen, all culminating in an unsatisfying and forced cutscene solidified this as my most hated Conquest chapter. Funnily enough I kinda liked Endgame, though I can understand the issues. And to top off unpopular opinions, Chapter 10 is one of my favourites.

that truly was the worst chapter conquest was just too hard in general. i played on normal, causal mode because i heard it was super hard my friends told me to put on pheonix mode and they were right i should have because that final chapter is just the worst, but the whole game felt like a slog, good chapters had their moments but it felt very bare bones and had no supplement to nino syndrome like radiant dawn or path of radiance had so the whole time if i did not need a unit it fell to the wayside and it does nino syndrome hard in this game

Chapter 23 is literally the easiest chapter I've ever played. You fight enemies that can't move, and 4 enemies that can shoot. It's so easy. Cleared without any deaths in hard.

The one good thing about the endgame, is that even if your units die, they just wont gain any levels and you can still use them.

21:42 that's not true. everytime I play that chapter it always selects my 4th strongest units in the army meaning it's gonna be corrin, xander and two other you have built the most. the only disadvantage would if a flying unit like camilla gets teleported close to the sniper but that's it and you can always flee back to your army since there nothing blocking your way to join back. Also why don't you pair up the 4 units that are above it the map before starting? it's much easier and allows you stop easier the waves of enemies.

On chapter 21 since you had to escape with all your units, I just brought highly mobile units and beat it in 5 or 6 turns (I forgot which). I had Corrin paired up with Camila, and Shigure paired up with Percy (Percy had no royal blood) and I would send one unit as far as possible, and the other to a dragon vein, alternating as they both progressed through. Took me 4 quick tries, hard classic.

Hey ! To start things off, i would like to say that i really like your videos ! It's always interesting to see your thoughts about a fire emblem game. And also i can see that you put a lot of effort in your vids, and that's greatly appreciated. In my opinion, the fact that you have found some of those chapters really frustrating, just shows that they have achieved their goals. They have done what they could to make your journey pretty tough, but that's exactly why it is so good at the end, when you are done with it. I noticed, that especially when i played in lunatic mode, because you could clearly see the minor changes that transformed entirely the way you plan your strategy. Sometimes it's about the number of ennemies (chap 10), the addition of a new ability ( chap 25...oh gawd) or more reinforcement (that chap 24 tho). Maybe i'm saying that because i'm a dark souls fan, but at the end of the day, the more challenging it gets, the more rewarding it gets too...even if it is unfair like that lunatic endgame (oh boy...well i will replay in lunatic anyway, since i am a masochist) Keep up the good work !

I actually really liked chapter 10. It was refreshingly challenging and it forced you to make a plan every time you restarted and made you strategize on which characters should team up to win. This made me feel great satisfaction when I finally won because I worked hard on it.

How odd. I had loads of trouble with the double counter units in chapter 27 but the endgame wasn't nearly as bad as this video lays it out to be. Just use a mage attacking from two spaces away to deal with the Self Destruct faceless and take it kind of slow, there are a lot of dragon vein rocks to be used. (I played on Hard mode)

For chapter ten, I totally agree with you, it and the eternal stairway are my most hated levels. However, after numerous attempts at either losing Beruka or losing in general. However, I found that with some insane Camilla RNG, you are able to kill Takumi before he uses the dragon vein. I recommend this as it makes it much, MUCH easier!
