Helpful, been working on my crawlspace problems. Have old sagging insulation and window/vents. Thought about using foam spray to roxul under floor but think I plan to remove all old and insulate walls and seal windows. Not sure on sealing floor since I do occasionally get water in crawlspace during heavy rain. Still working on drainage around home. So wondering if that would be ok or should I still vent due to water still coming into crawlspace. Videos helpful think just became your 1000th subscriber.

+John Ag Smith If your humidity is still high after addressing standing water, you may want to look into controlling with dehumidifier, especially if you are in a high humid climate.

Great videos! I think you have convinced me to try this out myself *Gulp* I have a question about something you said in this video. In my research, I read that encapsulation can cause gas build up as you stated. You said that you perform a hybrid encapsulation to avoid this because you control ventilation and humidity. I know that the vapor barrier, insulation, and dehumidifier control the humidity, but what part of your recommended process controls the ventilation? Thanks!!!

Great question! To help dehumidify your crawl space, you will need vent fans to help the dehumidifier to dehumidify the area, the vent fans circulate the exhausting air and gases

I've watched lots of your videos and they are great; but don't understand why (with an encapsulated crawlspace) there is no longer any need for insulation under the floor (between the joists). Please explain this; thanks.

I think no longer need insulation only because is more close and the plastic don't let any hot or cold keep getting in. But I'm agreed with you only part I like when is no insulation is I can see the wood, My house never had insulation but last year when I did my roof I get a bad job, those people took of my wind turbine and cover my vents to open top edge them my whole house get humidity and mold everywhere. I wish that company paid this extra problem they created for me.

@@kachiquitaito3341 According to the International Residential Code for closed crawl spaces (408.3) if the walls of the closed crawl space are insulated, there is no need for subfloor insulation. If your crawl space vents are open, you must have subfloor insulation. I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience with your roofing company, I hope that you get get the issues resolved!

Agreed with you. To me only Crawl Space Ninja know best how to do it right Crawl Space Encapsulation. I live in NC and I going to do it Crawl Space Encapsulation but I still don't feel this company is like Crawl Space Ninja.

So I gotta ask though. Why do so many companies offer encapsulation and the dehumidifier install but no one except your company I've seen so far says you need a fan in a crawl space to properly ventilate from gases?? I mean do they not think about it?

That is a good questions James, and i wish we had an answer as to why others don't. But what we can answer is that we saw it was a potential problem and we decided it needed to be addressed, that way we can provide a worry free crawl space to our customers.

Hey Bill, we actually offer our customers a free digital crawl space assessment that shows them exactly what we see during the assessment so they know why we recommend different packages and services. The cost will ultimately depend on which package and/or add-ons the customer decides will work best for them and their budget, along with the square footage of their crawl space. We also offer different financing options to help make encapsulation even more affordable. However, every company is different!
