On this week's crawl space encapsulation install, see how chose to seal up my buddy Danny's crawlspace! The moisture barrier used to encapsulate this crawl space is our 20 mil fiberglass reinforced poly. We started with humidity levels above 70% according to our moisture sensor, and whenever I left ooltewah, tn today, with the dehumidifier running less than 24 hours, moisture levels were already down to 54%! Just wait until about 48 more hours! Talking about humidity control! Wooooooo! Top shelf home improvement!
Our certified crew of crawl space artists have got the magic touch when it comes to foundation repair. If it's correcting a wet crawl space, removing water in a crawl space, or installing our big Santa Fe advance dehumidifier, we give each and every aspect of our projects, our absolute heart and soul!
Check out our r19 poly-encapsulated crawl space insulation! When it comes to insulating a crawl space, there is no better product! It is the ultimate energy saver!

You out did yourself on this video. Very professional installation. Miley Cyrus would approve of the twerking also. Stay out of the crawlspace this weekend. Have a good weekend.

@@TannerFlowers you have raised the bar on crawlspace videos. I will never look at a crawlspace in the same way. I am afraid that when i look in my crawlspace there will be someone dancing in there.

Always means more coming from those who actually do the work, and know what's up. Some of our recent encapsulation projects are pretty crazy. We ought to be good at it though. I started messing with these things back in 2008! We've learned a lot. Products have advanced. I have ruffled many feathers along the way. And I take time to let the ones in the know know, know that I appreciate them! 👍👍

I like to cry. me myself i'm like the guy off of badazled or what ever the dude that cries about dolphine safe tuna. have to do this to my crawl space. We have to fix my joist in our house not even wasting my money until the moister is fixed. noticed the crawl space door wasnt sealed :P thanks for the video thought taught me something i did not know about factoring in the air quality

Cause we build 3/4" thick only accesses. Never needed sealed. Or, you would have seen me doing so for 15 years. If you see me doing it, it needs it. If you don't see me doing it, it's because I know what works, and I do not give a shit about anyone's opinions on the matter. Want it done right? Learn from me. Want a half ass job, call anyone else claiming to offer these types of services. That's the real deal.

You mentioned you don’t leave a 2” gap at the top of the vinyl because you can pull it back to see if there are any termite trails. Sure you can see them if you peel it back or look up on the top ledge, but if you have to do that you will have to go around the entire perimeter and pull it back to see it, instead of being able to see without having to pull it back. Good way to overlook problems till they become bigger problems! 🤷‍♂️

No. We never have to pull it back. You can always see the top. Such a silly thing. I love the people who mention it though. Thanks for commenting.

Tanner Flowers I simply asked why you don’t leave a visible section and you reacted like you seem to think that anybody that asks is silly. I’m not a termite inspector or pest control man, the reason I asked is that a plan to encapsulate my crawlspace. I watched the other video you referenced and it was difficult because it was full of sarcasm and you repeated the same phrases over and over. I have some places in there where the wall is probably 6 to 7 feet tall. If I can’t see what’s behind my brick veneer and I can’t see what’s inside that block wall why would I want to run my poly up so far then I’m going to have to get on a ladder to be able to see the only part of the wall that’s left for me to view? Wouldn’t it be a lot smarter to leave a 3 inch gap and then I can see it whether I’m sitting on my crawlspace floor, or if I’m standing on my feet, or whether I am on my knees working and anywhere in between? Why make somebody have to walk up to the block wall and look over to the top of the seal and do that all the way around the perimeter instead of just having a gap that will allow them to sit in the middle of the crawlspace and turn around and see it all in less than 60 seconds? Now does that really sound silly to you? If you really really felt like it don’t matter whether or not you have a gap, then why don’t you just say that instead of saying it’s crazy to leave a 3 inch gap? Sounds like you’re just trying to defend your position and ignore commonsense. Personally I’m not gonna run the poly all the way up where I have to get on a ladder if I want to see if there’s mud trails up there just because you say that’s the way it should be done. That’s crazy! If you’re installing vapor barrier on customers walls and not informing them that they or someone else will have to physically go up to each wall and peer over to be able to see if there’s any mud trails on that wall without telling them that you could simply leave a 3 inch gap and they could see it all without having to go through all that trouble, then you are doing them a disservice in my opinion. But that’s between you and your customers.

You can see the top edge on all of our projects. You'll see the same mudtube going up, and over to box seal, just as good as could if there weren't any poly on the wall. Don't believe everything you're told from bug people. It's the biggest scam industry I have ever witnessed. And I own a lot of businesses. Thank you for commenting though. I appreciate it.

I am currently building a custom home for my family and we spend a lot of time out in the driveway and on the back deck. I was planning on insulating around the back deck and all the way down the driveway to the curb to keep temp more under control when the family is outside. What are your professional thoughts 💭
