Been running the 35 & 45KG 9imod servos for several months. So far they are both quiet, quick and good torque. Paid $30.00 (each) or less for both. Full aluminum case to boot. Way nicer that the 25-35 eBay/Amazon offerings.

Ha, I just received the same servo a few days ago. Great sale price. Haven't used it yet. Also I have been using $20 Chinese Baja pro tires with dual stage hair buns 🤣. Wheels, tires, and foams all for ~$65 a set. Did great in a comp over the weekend just need to orient with V on tread pointing up. In any case appreciate your videos.

Omg I just got mine today also for that sale price so worth the money. I put it on my 10ii trail truck 3s , hobbywing pro 2in1, super heavy amazon portals with tracks it needed this so far its awesome I can push down on front-end when I put my weight on it, the servo actually moves the whole rear of the rig! It's a really heavy rig Very impressed for the price.

A little slow and a lot loud, but at the coupon price it's an absolute steal.

I run the same truck with f/rear independent diff lock. Hpi savage monster truck shocks in the rear with rear sway bar and rear suck down winch. I can adjust rear ride height and available flex. Will flex on a monster energy can. Keeps it more level going up hills when up and better side hilling when down. Thinking about rear steer now but will need a 7channel radio.

Warning! Aliexpress reviews of 9imod servos are consistently getting worse. People claim the quality and durability went down recently and it's already affecting, what's on the market. I wouldn't risk it as a savings measure.

With the coupon gone it's not as sweet a deal-- direct power for $42 is a steal, even if the thing is loud. At regular price I'd get the Flash Hobby 60kg every time.

Pretty much every ESC I've got as a JST soldered inline with the power plug, so yep, the servos just take direct battery voltage. Some folks have had some QC issues with the 9imod 60kg, but I've had no problems with mine at all (knocks wood)

Not a bad servo there! Definitely a noisy gear train but a solid option. Yesterday I was remounting tires and spent a solid half hour looking for my Phoenix wheel nut tool. Turns out I left it with the manual and sticker sheets so I wouldn't lose it🤣
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Жыл бұрын
The SSD scale hubs using the same tool for both M4 and M5 was an absolute gamechanger for me-- and mind you, $20 for wheel nuts for ONE rig still upsets my stomach. But I'd do it again, just to not have to futz with that 7mm to 8mm adapter. Sure would be nice if someone made a thin-wall 8mm driver.

@@CrawlerCanyon I should look into that. I remember your other videos showing it. It makes me wonder in someone like Stahlwille, Mac or Snap-on makes something like that. It wouldn't be cheap but I bet it'll be better quality than anything on Amazon

@@ShadeTree_RC In the rig with the 45kg I am using the fusion quick run pro, which is part of the reason for lack of umph! My phoenix has a copperhead 10 with 4s and a reefs 422 and it's like night and day difference. So lack of power is part of the 45's weakness.
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Жыл бұрын
I feared that the 45kg 9imod would exhibit the same power hungry behavior that the Flash Hobby does-- which peaks around 8A draw at stall. The servo on an internal BEC is... meh, but on an external 10A is pretty outstanding. Problem is, once you add the cost of the 45kg and a 10A BEC, you could go direct power.

The one 60kg version I have is chugging along, loud as ever but has never given me an issue. ICFTW 22 (I think?) has one as well, and that one was dead quiet. So far so good, I suppose.

I've been running the same servo and I really like it for the price. However be careful, it is not waterproof, the water will get inside the servo to the pcb, which cause twitching. After drying I coated the pcb with laquer and I haven't had any problems since

It's a pretty short list of Canyon residents that are allowed out in the rain-- mostly because I'm too lazy to do the cleanup-- but Tranquish is definitely NOT on that list, as he's also rocking four JX4409MGs, and none of those are waterproof either. He's a fair-weather boy.

You should make an adapter for the servo arm that puts it right at one inch
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Жыл бұрын
I don't mind the 24mm hole spacing, because it's really more of a "real world" number than the torque at 1", because pretty much everybody is running at either 24,22, or 19mm from center. Heck, I have one rig with a cut-down steel horn with the arm at 16mm from center. That's a force increase of around 50%.

I bought 2 of this brands higher spec servos. They look great.But, Both of them failed in a short time with little to no real abuse. Was running 7.4 v. Wasn't hvdp versions. Don't recall it being a mechanical issue, for either. One just didn't work one day. No reason. The other started twitching. Knew it was not gonna last from that point. Wouldn't buy again based on my experience.
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Жыл бұрын
I've not yet tested an Rx-powered (that is, non-direct power) servo above a 35kg rating that wasn't an absolute amp-devouring monster. IIRC, every 45kg servo I've tested has peaked at stall above 7A-- and most internal BECs are not up to that task. Electric motors dislike being underpowered almost as much as they dislike being overpowered. That said, when it comes to the $30-40 servo, I often times just run 'em until they don't. And I've had a VERY short list of servos fail electronically. Mechanical? Oh, plenty. Ive steered clear of virtually all of the Amazon ~45kg HV servos for this reason-- I know they'll draw more amps than the partnered equipment will give. Well, that and the fact that the 45kg + external BC generally = the cost of a direct power version.

It's a strange name, but so are many of the other Chinese brand names out there. :p Looks like an awesome servo though. I have one of the 9imod outrunner motors, and it's really nice, even using a non-crawler hobbywing 10bl120. Also have one of their 35kg servos that's going in the same rig as the outrunner. Their stuff is pretty cheap, but seems like nice quality. Can't wait for my Rhino ESC to arrive (in a few weeks), to see how good that outrunner really is.
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Жыл бұрын
The 10BL120 might be the most underrated ESC out there. Certainly not the best choice for every application, but the cheap little thing can do most everything it's asked pretty darn well.
@Br0rB
@Br0rB Жыл бұрын
@@CrawlerCanyon It's not a bad ESC, and the price is great. I just don't feel it gives me the low speed control I want, or the smoothness I need in my rig. I originally bought it for an old 10th scale basher I have, that I fried the ESC in. Not wanting to spend a lot of money to try out brushless in one of my crawlers, I just took the 10bl120 out of the basher. I've tried to program it as best I can, and tried several pinions, from 9 to 16, and it's just not doing the trick with the outrunner, or the sensored brushless I had before that. It's fast though, so it's got that going for it. 😅
@CrawlerCanyon
@CrawlerCanyon Жыл бұрын
@@Br0rB Oh, with an outrunner it's going to be pretty awful, and the sensored performance is... okay. But I just threw mine in the Lasernoot, and it brought that thing to life.
