Another fine review. I do so appreciate something that goes beyond a recitation of the specs and a few carefully edited action shots. It's a good enough looking rig and seems to have a favorable smile per mile ratio. That said, I get a lot of enjoyment from building, tweaking, tuning and customizing my trucks, and this one appears to offer limited opportunity in that regard, putting it in a bit of a no-man's land for me. As an aside, it's baffling that this channel doesn't get more views and subscribers. Maybe most folks just like 10 minute feel-good commercials for the major manufacturers; who can say? But those of us who know, know. Keep up the good work!

the 880 is absolutely as programmable as a 1080! and it belongs in there because is has dual motor outputs, and a 775 requires both of them. i have a summit-based crawler running an 880, and a massive dewalt brushed (~860), and CEN colossus wheels. and that 880 is excellent for the job, once you get it set up.

I’m planning to try this Esc out first experience it before trashin it completely. It’s programmable I don’t think canyon man checked well on this review/Esc and the manufacturer I believe included a pen drive for instructions. Great video. Loved the honest review with the struggle most people in the hobby get hung up on. A large majority in my opinion get caught up in a mentality that they are getting to be into a rock crawl comp with every rc they buy or review on KZbin. I'm looking to buy one and this video sums up perfectly what I was looking into for this rc. It's not a dedicated crawler. It can be a very kickass trail truck with capability to summit many of the obstacles I would face in the trails I frequently run. Planning on a 45kg servo and a fusion pro 2300kv.

Watts linkage I think? I have that ESC...came on my other 775 equipped 1/8th scale rigs. It works well, like a 1080 but meant for dual motor originally I think. Cross says that's a 560 25t "or up". I've noticed a lot of the 1/8th scale rigs are coming with 5 slot motors which have very little to no drag brake. I have a Fusion Pro in my 1/8th scale Yikong and it does well at 1.5-12lbs. My very first crawler, the Leagendary Grando had that same wingus for the 2 speed linkage and it always needed adjustment to work. Maybe they went to the same vehicle chassis school as Redcat. Plug that hobbywing card in and make your adjustments like a 1080! We often do extreme hill climbs when trailing here in Mythigan, so yes, front weight still matters as does drag brake.

Yes! We all wanted this. The kid and I were just out with the Emo X3. Cross makes brass that mounts on top of the portal covers and that made a huge difference. We swapped in Super Swamper TSLs and it's 100x better. Also the manual is included on that small USB flash drive. I'm contemplating putting a spare Hobbywing Axe we have sitting around in our X3. Any thoughts on that?

I've been trained for years to never plug a random flash drive into a personal computer. I doubt I'll be able to break myself of it. Hobbywing AXE will likely be perfect for this. That's what I use in my TRX-6, so we know the AXE will move weight without issue.

It's a 313 wheelbase kit that includes a cool looking (in the photos) hard body. I ordered the JT4 body from the Cross RC US site and it shipped from Wisconsin. Hey Mr. C I thought I would chime in on this one as I have experience with the Hobbywing 880 and Mabuchi 775 motor. All the settings can be changed with the program card like the other 1080's etc. I have a series of videos on the Yikong 4083/Absima BronX that covers "all the things" I agree totally with everything you said. Not a crawler but capable of both to some degree if that is what you want. I chose to make mine more capable and then did the vanity things so now it's a fairly capable trail rig. I think these rigs (Yikong 4083 and the Cross Emo X2) share a similar parts bin. Parts upgraded. Portal weights 440g total Brass C Hubs Wheel weights (the sticky golf weight type) Servo upgrade DS3235 Motor ESC upgrade Fusion Pro Shock upgrade Desert Lizards 100mm (in droop config) Tyre/wheel/insert upgrade Proline Hyrax XL tyres, dual-stage foams (xl versions), and Fastrax 8 spoke 2.2s Repostioned battery mount for better weight bias. I hope this helps. Thank you again Mr. C another brilliant installment.

In my world the trail truck and crawler designations are certainly not so speperate. They're all mashed into a spectrum of sorts. Even the most dedicated crawler has to comfortably hike a mile or so to get to some of my spots. And the most scaled out, hardbody, leaf sprung trail trucks have to perform enough to have fun on the rocks and obstacles (except the flatbed and the tow rig).

Pls do a follow up on this guy! I just got one semi used open box. I like it. Also pls plug any HW program card and take all but two mins to go higher pwm adjust drag break I’d expect a more thorough and knowledge loaded review. I’m surprised you didn’t bother using a program card!! 😮 it has plenty of drag break. I watched this three times before bought my truck and I’m in love cause of the sheer size. You go fusion on this or keep stock a 1080 is a downgrade. Your other reviews are great this one is meh😂 Edit I took it out to the rocks and it failed drastically. I mean the Esc is trash no doubt and I was mistaken. I also slapped a 4s on it and things turned out dangerous. It over heated up a steep hill and rolled down. 😂 the snorkel took a beating like yours and the rest suspension “sway bar” popped out of place I managed to put it back in. I’m now going to do a run with the 1080 I swapped it with. What is the recommended upgrade motor Esc amongst these I have options Holmes hobby brushed 16T Fusion se 1200 kv or 1800 kv Fusion 1800kc pro a swap from another truck.
