Wow, Lord Pentabee does the things! Looks really good doing it.

Another USRDA of the Canyon. Looks like the changes thus far have all been for the positive. Lord Pentabee continues to impress. I wondered if it would necessitate to alter the selection of obstacles used in the tire testing protocol for the Class 1/hardbody combo, but it doesn't seem so. The hardbody in my fleet runs on Class 2s, but you're tempting me, man; you're tempting me.

The new class one tire test truck is looking and running good. Nice job. I am glad you got and see a use for the laser. If it is too big for the pocket you might be able to fab up a lanyard clasp out of a 1" P style tubing clamp. then you can just hang it around your neck for easy access. Just a thought.

It's my own fault for never noticing that the servo plate on the SE is different from all the other Enduros. That few millimeters turns out to be HUGE.

Maybe you want to try something if you haven`t yet... For a running project i´m also using my good old set of non-XL Flat Irons, paired with new stock-foams from PL´s Mickey Thompson Baja Pro X. It works 👍 Great sidehill stability, shoulder bite, and soft enogh to get more than enogh forward traction and a slow rebound... I did this way back in ~2010 for a Hardbody Rig with foams of a 2.2" PL Chisel (5.35") stuffed into 1.9" Class1 Super Swampers. A cheap but effective method to get rewarding results. Especially for something "scale-ish" like the Lord. And everyone who loves tires has a ton of foam inserts at home not knowing what to do with them... 😄 Greetings from ye olde city of Vienna. 👋

Pentabee looks really capable. I feel like il starting to fall down a hardbody rabbit hole after seeing this and “after” my Bugger build. Speaking of which didn’t you have one of those on the list at one point? I can’t remember seeing it.

It just needs electronics fitted and wired and it will be ready for it's first go.

@@CrawlerCanyon mine’s been waiting on that Furitek combo system for months. I’m half inclined to just cancel it and try to figure out a Rhino but that’d mean either getting an old PC or running emulator software on my Mac.

I think you should replace the damaged "F" on the hood to an "L" so it reads "Lord". 🤓

@CrawlerCanyon6 ай бұрын
Ackermann? How did you get Ackermann? The Element steering blocks are pretty much set up for zero, unless like... one end of the tie rod on top of the knuckle and the other below? Or maybe the C-hubs aren't aligned with one another?

I did change the C-Hub’s like yours so I probably need to check that Thanks

"Lord Pentabee, first of his name" looks ready to go, we will see if he doesnt get fired like Wilie 🤣 Also, why do rigs push out of the line like at 22:25? Geometry issues? Inserts? Weight distribution?
@CrawlerCanyon6 ай бұрын
Weight transfer and/or anti-squat issues seem to be the leaders. Most rigs are set up to maximize forward drive, so the weight "falls off" above a certain angle of climb.

So another words element is not a good value the “SE”. I mean add $150 for radio and motor. Link change I don’t think bushings are bad but will not replace bushings to bearings when worn. When you showed us the difference between and ar44 and their pinion I was like “nope” never😂. If your going to rip off a scx10ii do it right that’s all they are too me. The gearboxes are cool but axles are always the big $$hitters. I’ve never really had to replace any of my bearings. I have a 2017 trx4 on all stock bearings. I’ve had the rear axle bearings seize shut form falling in the pool and putting back onto the shelf. I simply worked them free with tri-flow and compressed air. 2 in 1’s I agree but the axial spektrum one is decent they program well with the analog HB card I drop to I can’t remember 11t pinion and any five slot 540 or 550 Holmes/injora sports gets them crawling super slow and clean. So their electronics are viable when elements are a hate to us the consumers. I would say rtr the VP is the Best Buy, FMS many other options. You have parts laying around but to the average consumer “se” elements are not even close. And the plastic linked deadbolt is a better foundation. My buddy bought the ecto and $450 with shipping it was immediately motor radio and esc change and tire $600-700 now. Axials r35 and Traxxas compounds far exceeds elements. The VP Reds on their rtr’s. I would never recommend an element. This seems hateful it is not at all what you do with yours is very inviting but money is an object.
@CrawlerCanyon6 ай бұрын
First thing's first: Element doesn't make a single good tire. Nothing I would buy. Second, Element discontinued the only decent rig they had, the Builder's Kit 2. I don't recommend any of their RTRs other than perhaps getting a Trailrunner on blowout clearance. The only people that should be buying SEs are the exact people that the SE is not aimed at: the folks with the deepest parts bins. I had everything on hand to turn an SE into what you see here-- I only needed to buy the body. The SE gets the "soft pass" in that in box-stock configuration, it pretty much works. Put a $70 Fusion SE in it and it will do the things. But if you plan on a mod path without a whole lot of parts in reserve, better to get an Enduro... or something else entirely. But don't single out Element-- Traxxas is no better (a Sport RTR costs as much as an FCX10,) Axial is arguably worse (sure, the AR44 is a more robust axle than the Element, but Axial makes across-the-board garbage gearboxes and hasn't yet engineered a shock that doesn't leak like a sieve) and the market provides zero parts support to any of the "off brands." That just leaves Vanquish, but I would 1000% recommend the kit over the RTR, while at the same time recommending that build a VFD Twin as their first kit box. So here we are. With no options. Building from pieces on Amazon and AE is likely going to be the only reasonable route moving forward. Oh, lastly-- in terms of measuring usage and/or value over time, the only acceptable metric is hours of use. Baseline has probably had every bearing changed at least once, as well as 3 front axle housings, all of his gearbox plastics, has broken both bumpers, shredded a decent number of gears... but is certainly past 500 hours of runtime.

@@CrawlerCanyon I can't believe they discontinued the Builders Kit 2! I mean, i just saw that it's not on Amain anymore... Man, my BK2 was my intro to 1/10 crawlers. i built one for my wife too. I've since built more capable things, from the ground up, but I would recommend that kit for anyone who wants to build a "trail truck" that can crawl pretty good. What a bummer.
