You can store anything cellulose in your crawlspace as long as you keep your RH at 40 and below. Actinomycetes? Now that’s another subject, especially cement crawlspaces.

We still don't recommend cellulose materials when they can be avoided because as this chart shows some fungi, bacteria, and viruses grow in low humidity. crawlspaceninja.com/blog/effective-virus-protection-by-controlling-humidity/

I made the cardboard mistake and it is a bad idea plus it lets critters hide under there
