I have two new christmas gift sets from 1991 or 1990 in the metal tin. Never used. When you open the tins, they smell so amazing. It takes me back to first grade. My elementary school was very old from the 1930's and they had radiators for heating. When the radiators came on in fall and winter and it heated up the ancient carpeting on the floor, the classroom smelled like dust and pencil shavings, and then that reminds me to crayons if there was an art project to do.

I'm from the Philippines and in my elementary days in the late 70s, I remember using a crayon colored flesh but when I googled it, it said that it was retired in 1962 by Crayola. I then remembered that there were 2 famous brands of crayons here during that time. One was Crayola and the other one was a cheaper brand called Colora and I think that was the one I used. I'm not sure if it was made locally that's why it's cheaper.

An unexpected heat wave came to WA state year after year in the summers up here and I don't have temperature controlled storage because normally the temperatures out here are not so extreme. I'm pretty sure some of my crayons' tips bent a little during those heat waves. This guy's crayons in an air conditioned home are probably safer than mine. I'm making sure to just photograph all of the contents of my collection in case any more damage is done later. Then I can at least look at them as they were.
