They do mention they don't watch much KZbin on their own time due to the fact that they just don't have time for it or aren't too interested in a lot of the content. So it makes sense they wouldn't know a whole lot of folks within youtube outside the ones they meet at events and such. That's how I piece it together from what they've mentioned before. Also, I think the demographic they hit is mostly gamers and younger teens to early 20's adults. Just the logistics of it I guess.
