David speaks the truth. My oldest son has always been attached to my parents. I was living with my parents and they were very protective over him. He was barely a month old and he was sleeping with my parents as if he were theirs. Whenever he saw or we’d be with his paternal grandparents he never wanted to with be them. He cried and fussed until we left their place. This was before he turned 1. Even now, he’s 4, he doesn’t really see them as his grandparents, I’ll say do you want to see so and so, and he’ll straight up tell me NO👎🏻. As opposed to telling him we’re going to mema and pepa (my parents), he jumps for joy. So I do believe infants create a bond to whom ever they see and spend time with the most. Even my husband’s best friend’s daughter has a really strong bond with his mom. She even sleeps with her grandma rather than with her parents. She also prefers her paternal grandma than her maternal grandparents b/c gma watches her while her parents work. So yes an infant does create bonds with the person/people that watch them, even if it’s not their parents. Also infant stage are the most crucial to creating bonds, why do you think newborns need skin to skin? Or why some say “breastfeeding is important b/c it creates a special bonding experience”. I believe it’s true. My youngest sister wasn’t breastfed and she doesn’t get along with my mom very well, opposed to my other sister and me. 🤷🏻♀️

Boy, the Internet must be a mastermind (not) in reading other people's expression. Having a different opinion and voicing it doesn't equate to Geo being salty over David's opinion. You're either sensitive like that and think friendship is all rainbow and flowers, or you're just childish and love to over-exaggerate a situation using the word 'triggered' and 'salty'. Because Internet, that's why!

@grey.68256 жыл бұрын
QwertyQ In his original comment, which is quoted above, he certainly did. By using the words "during the infancy stage", he did specify a time period. He only later added the "all the way 'till now" part and what Geo was responding to was his original comment.
@smn56726 жыл бұрын
Rae Ag either way , he wouldnt ve in the wrong as the ACTUAL attachment period is around 6 months to 2.5 years - 6 months is included in infancy
@buymerockstar45066 жыл бұрын
Attachment in infants usually happens between 3 to 6 months, called "the critical period" where the baby forms the attachments with the mom (primary) and dad (secondary) usually. After that period, the babies can be cared by grandmas and stuff

The attachment argument I can personally say I’m closer to my grandparents than my mom I lived with m grandparents till I was 10 so for me they are like my parents. My mom was around but she lived somewhere else I did see her several times a week growing up but still I was more attached to my grandparents. I didn’t even realize how close I was to them until my grandpa died recently it physically broke me for a while it felt like losing my dad.

seems that Geo is wrong, on so many levels. she said that bonding or attachment doesn't matter before the age of 12 months, but then what about the skin to skin contact that mothers have to do with their newborns as a form of bonding? she even does skin-on-skin with 4 month old Taika, which is a normal bonding technique. so she just contradicted herself.
@joannagallegos30965 жыл бұрын
Attachment starts as soon as the baby is born. The infant already prefers the mothers voice and face. It is even possible for babies to grieve the loss of their care taker. They wont understand that they have passed away or the reason why they're gone, but they will miss them so much they'll become depressed. The infant may even be more wary of attaching to new caretakers for fear of abandonment.
