No offense, but how do you miss one whole queen, or two, depending on your point of view ? Edward didn't leave his throne to Elizabeth. He left it to Jane Grey, who held it for only days before Henry's first daughter, Mary, became Queen. Mary held the throne for several years until her death. Elizabeth then inherited the throne from her half sister not Edward.

12:58 Henry VIII’s son Edward did not leave the throne to his half sister Elizabeth. He left it to his cousin, Lady Jane Grey who only ruled 9 days before Henry VIII’s oldest daughter Mary usurped Jane and had her executed for treason. Mary, aka Bloody Mary, ruled for less than 10 years before dying at WHICH POINT ELIZABETH BECAME QUEEN.

I have my own theories about Anne’s miscarriages and stillbirths. She suffered through this illness called the sweating sickness (which killed her sister Mary’s first husband, among others) and I feel like she never fully recovered. Perhaps Elizabeth was a “miracle” but after that, the effects of said sickness took effect. I know that there is no direct cause for eithe miscarriage of stillbirth (some say stress but no direct cause is found). Once again, just a theory but it’s interesting to think about especially considering how stressful being queen and former mistress of the king

Your information is incorrect. Edward left the throne to Lady Jane Grey who was Queen for nine days until, Mary, daughter of Catherine of Aragon, rode into London with an army, captured Queen Jane Grey, and had her beheaded. Mary then became Queen, known as "Bloody Mary', and when she died a few years later, her half-sister, Elizabeth I became Queen.

Actually, right before Edwards death they drew up an emergency plan, called the "Device to Succession" that named Jane Grey, Edwards protestant cousin, as his successor. She was never coronated, so she wasn't technically a Queen, but she was at the same time. Still, only for 9 days until Mary I, the ACTUAL claimant to the Throne of England, and all her many many supporters swept into London and claimed the throne. She was going to allow Jane Grey to live, knowing that she had been influenced and even forced into the agreement by Edwards privy counsel and nobles. However, her father kept plotting coups to take back the Throne for his daughter and her young husband, so she ended up being executed along with her young husband and her father.

So, as stated in numerous comments there were a number of inaccuracies and aspects left out in this video. First, part of the reason why Pope Clement was unwilling to grant the divorce was because Catherine's nephew was Charles The Fifth, who was the Holy Roman Emperor at the time. Catherine, being the smart and very shrewd woman she was, had written to Charles talking about her treatment by the king and asking Charles for help. He responded (or some say his men acted independently) by having his troops march into Rome, forcing Clement to flee the Vatican and remain a virtual prisoner for the rest of his days in Rome. Clement obviously did not want to antagonize his jailer (who for all intents and purposes was Charles) so he declined Henry's request. Secondly, as previously stated, Edward reigned for six years after Henry died, before he passed it to Lady Jane Grey. She reigned for a mere 9 days before Mary the First took over, reigning for five years before she then died and Elizabeth the First took over.

1 question I know it is a literature story but is it true about the story of the kind Edward that he went and found a boy who looked like him and they exchanged the roles for 1 day ? I saw it from a documentry on TV like 10 years ago or more and since I found by chance this channel first on snapchat and then I looked it up on youtube so this story came up so I asked you about it is it true? about The Prince and the Pauper thing

@10:01 - Curious to know what the general public believe about spells, black magic, witchcraft, etc. There are still covens of witches in Romania.

This channel gets a lot of history wrong and usually discusses history from a very serious slant.

Didn’t Lady Jane Grey and Mary I take over after Edward?

I remember Paul Lynde on the Hollywood squares, when asked the question what was the real reason Henry VIII had his wife Anne Boleyn killed? When he found out he wasn’t Henry the First!😅

Lets be fair, xomment posters. The content creator did not forget about Queen Mary. No Catholic monarchs may rule England. Per decree of Henry VIII. Mary was not the head of the Church of England, thus can be ignored by history as a legitimate Queen of England. (revisionist history by ( Edited) "Weird History" ).

How did you get the end wrong? After Edward’s death, Mary became Queen. Elizabeth I didn’t become Queen until Mary’s death.

Very inaccurate. One might as well watch "The Tudor's ", if they want a pop culture view of history. At least that had great production value.

You spend so much time putting in lame jokes in your videos, you’re not doing your homework for accurate facts. I’m on the edge of unsubscribing after some years.

Um, no. After Edward died, it was their sister, Mary, who took over as Queen of England. She would reign for five years as Bloody Mary, and only then would Elizabeth become queen.

Mary became queen after Edward. Well there was the nine day queen in between, but her head rolled. Elizabeth was after her elder half sister Mary

Technically, Henry and Catherine DID have a son - Henry, Duke of Cornwall. He only lived a few months, but he was born alive and would have been Henry IX if he'd lived.

Actually, Mary followed Edward before Elizabeth( not counting Jane Dudley the 9 days queen)

True but you should include Jane given Edward left the crown to her rather than his sisters whether she liked it or not and it resulted in her execution. A very tragic story.

Video would be awesome if it corrected itself about Edward leaving the crown to Jane Grey. The ending is a huge inaccuracy
