Dude - you gotta learn how to pronounce player names. It’s distracting.

Before Gretzky was traded to LA - he was traded to Detroit -for Yzerman and cash - it was all set to go - but Walter Gretzky at the last minute said - Detroit already had Gordie Howe you will never be greater than him - lets go to LA instead - that is how that went down - that has been told by Wayne himself .

Gretzky's dad was the one who talked him out of Detroit, and pick LA to forge his own legacy. Also, Adam Oates was the key piece heading back to Edmonton, not Yzerman.

@@PittsburghPenguinyeah that's the way I've always heard it too . Imagine Detroit with Stevie , Sergi, and Wayne . Got a feeling that the wings would have surpassed Toronto in total cups by a few

Same here. No care taken to properly pronounce names.

If the Oilers had only pulled off those trades they would easily smoked the Panthers for the cup
