What a great video! The Spongebob "...it's a rock!" reference cracked me up. I live in Morro Bay and can attest that the current in the marina is no joke! I often stand on the shore in amazement because it looks like a river flowing. Ive seen kayakers give up and just go to the nearest shore because there were unable to kayak up the current back to their loading spot. Major props to you with your amazing finish and to all of you who were able to endure that insane swim. You're amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed this content. Congratulations!

I also was super confused by the swim because I thought I was doing something wrong. I expected to finish in 33 minutes but it took me 45. Glad I was able to get out of the water!

Great effort! I watched my friend race and was so confused about why he took so long on his swim. As I returned to the finish line, I saw so many swimmers get picked out of the water! I felt bad that they DNF. Glad you made it out alive!!

Congratulations on your strong performance!!! I was one of the many who DNFd and not allowed to continue on the bike. I still jumped into the run. They couldn't take THAT from me!

There was a 15 ft female Great White swimming in the inlet 3 years ago. Ya never know what's out there. Morro Bay and the Central Coast is such a great spot.

Bad weekend for Ironman. I raced 70.3 Chattanooga and the bike course was a mess.

What happened on the bike?
@carterzerweck35457 ай бұрын
it was the most crowded bike I’ve ever ridden and I was in the top 15%. Ironman is really trying to make as much money as they can with these races. Close to 3500 competitors where it probably should’ve been capped at 2500.

The videos and talk about the swim are starting to hit the "airwaves"... Sounds like Morrow Bay got very lucky there were no deaths. Someone at the front office made a bad decision and ultimately this is bad for the sport. I appreciate your truthful comments about the swim segment.... some of the other videos I've watched were like... "Dude!! the swim was so knarly"!!..."Dude"??"...knarly??" How "knarly" would it have been if someone drowned? and you're made a great point...the slower swimmers are in the back for a reason, they are not the stronger swimmers and guaranteed there was some first-time racers in the back (I'm sure they were already nervous and somewhat ill-prepared) ...this made for a series of potential catastrophic events. Someone at Morrow Bay needed to do better. You ran an incredible race, and you look like a great triathlete. I am subscribed.
